Last Fall soon after the Cafe line was introduced I did see 3 ranges in different stores and different towns. All 3 were products of something wrong to include 2 with very crooked doors. Looked like the hinge was not in the right spot. This would have been manufacturing not handling. If I had seen quality I would have selected the Cafe.

I don't use baking soda, washing soda works better. You can get it in the laundry aisle. For whites (for me that just means socks) I wash in hot, toss in a couple scoops of oxyclean, put a cup of peroxide in the bleach container and presoak for about 1/2 hour. The socks stay white, not quite bleach-white but I figure the trade off is worth it. If you do try washing soda be careful. I usually let the water fill or at least get a good head start before I put the soda in. I have occasionally noticed spots that look like bleach stains when I just throw it on top of the laundry. If you still need a good story for your husband about natural cleaners I've got one for you. My sister's washer broke so she brought some clothes to my house. I washed them with my detergents (all natural - nontoxic) and when I pulled them out of the dryer you could still smell her detergent and fabric softener on them. The stuff just doesn't wash out but the chemicals do penetrate your skin because of the constant contact. Yuck!!

Experienced same problem. NOT HAPPY WITH SAMSUNG It’s been less than a year since we bought top loading active jet washing machine. We placed an order so the unit would come before we moved in, but I wish I did not rush and did more research on reviews. 1. It did not come with manual and the washing machine we bought is WA50R5400AW Without manual, without internet start up in new home, could not print manual. It was inconvenient. Why would this big company like Samsung not send paper manual?? Although I can start the machine without the manual, I wanted to read it so I can figure out how all settings work and why i am having hot/ cold water issuues. No matter what setting I chose, I have similar issues with hot/ cold/ warm water. On permanent wash, it used to take hot water on level 3 which supposed to be warm water, but it started with cold and stayed cold.. but one day suddenly it started hot water after initially filling in cold water. By the time I realized, it was half way filled So I tried to change the settings to 2 from 3, so rest of the water would not be too hot. 👎🏼👎🏼 But, The machine drained all of water and soap since I changed the settings. It does not allow you to reset temps, water level or the cycle. The machine was filled almost 3/4 or more and lost all of the water and soap. And, I ended up restartimg , added more soap and refilled again.. 👎🏼👎🏼 Big disappointment since you can’t change the settings or reset once you select the cycle and start. I wish I had bought simple washing machine one like we had at my rental place. For above issues of hot, warm and cold water, Samsung sent technicians, but they could not figure out eituer. So they called technical support and they said that some settings are factory setting and we can not change temps. however manual says yiu can change . so here i have no resolution. cant wash in just hot, warm or cold whn i need to. They said you can’t change the settings in some cycles, however digital manual says you can change the settings, and so the rep on phone explained the same. I wish I did not buy Samsung. Would stay away and do not recommend anyone Samsung.

We have one and use it ALL the time. I don’t use the water though - it runs too slow for me. Last summer, though, we were having problems with the ice flapper - yes, that’s it’s real name. Apparently it wasn’t closing completely every time we got ice and was letting warm air leak up into the freezer. That caused some ice melting/fusing of cubes. So I finally called the repair guy and he got me a new flapper. Total charges about $110. (And then my electric bill went down cause my freezer had been running excessively! I should have noticed that, but I just didn’t. Duh.) My refrigerator is about 7 years old and it’s a Frigidaire.
