As someone said, V&B is a very fine company. Because of outsourcing practices these days, the only thing I'd do is make sure it's really made in Germany or at least Europe. To me it would be sad to import it, only to find out that they'd outsourced its production to China! Amazingly even the Germans are doing that. Just found a carry bag yesterday by a German company, only to see it was made in China. Sad state of things. Don't even get me started on the new Spode products now made in China... I have Spode mugs made in England that are 13 years old and have seen microwave and DW use all that time and are fine give or take a chip or loose handle, and I get a new one made in China three months ago, and all the glaze is already crazed/cracked. There IS a difference in things coming from China. OK I am stepping away from the soapbox...

The Spectabilis does make a spectacle. I had some after it seeded in. One year I donated 20 babies to a plant sale where I was told they wouldn't sell. Any plant in a plant sale that is in flower sells! If you really like bleeding hearts, try some of the others. My favorite was the Dicentra Eximia. It is nowhere as tall but it flowers for months; likes partial shade, makes a nice ground cover. Some are fragrant. Used to love sitting there weeding near it to smell its fragrance.
