Some updates on the kitchen
I was asked for new kitchen pictures and I am happy to show it off. It is very close to being totally finished, it is totally functional now. The kitchen aid dual fuel double oven and gas stove went in yesterday. The kitchen aid microwave the day before. It is now venting out of the wall into the atrium instead of going through the top of the cabinet and out of the roof which gives me almost full use of the cabinet. My kitchen aid dishwasher is in as well as my neat new faucet and sink. The pantry doors are in but not the shelves. But you can get an idea.

I found this beautiful blue Fleur-de-lis bowl I had to have, I will fill it with big yellow lemons. My husband wasn't happy about the price but agreed it needed to come home with us.
My hutch goes down at the far end by the window but there's still a bunch of stuff there and the shelving unit will go at the opposite end to house all my colorful enamel cast iron and stuff. The blinds are going up in the next few days. The big window on the stove side looks into the atrium which is a mess now. The windows on the sink side look out to the driveway and our rv. From in the rv I can look through one of my windows and see all the way through to the atrium lol.

Comments (4)Laminate with undermount was touted as so wonderful when it came out, but every fabricator that did it except one has dropped doing it because of problems with it. If you want undermount, you want a solid counter like stone or corian. Look at the specials going on right now. We've got several colors of solid countertops starting under $40 a square foot. Frankly, by the time you add in the fancy edge with the 180FX you won't be that far in price from one of them. With the undermount sink, it's probably actually higher than many stone choices. The last quote I did for a laminate with undermount sink was actually $200 higher than one of the Group A granites that start at $43 a square foot here, and throw in a free stainless sink....See MoreI really need some kitchen advice-paint, colors, etc.
Comments (10)..just to say that I really like your kitchen and its colors. The cabintets seem so alive..the color and texture remind me some animal's fur. And the counter is not non-descriptive to me, at all. I look at your kitchen-and I see something I'd like to pet. It's warm and has character. It's like forest in the fall. I didn't want to write all these silly things, but I've been looking at your kitchen all day. And today when I woke up-I started looking at it again. So here goes. It's pleasant to look at.. Of course it's not about me liking your kitchen, but you' liking your kitchen. But you said you liked it, or at least do not dislike it, you just want it to feel newer. So change of hardware is a a good thing then, and of course you can decide to change counters, add backsplash, etc. If so you wish. Appliances, in some foreseaable future.. But the easiest thing would be to change your perception of it, and since it's a kitchen open to other space(living? family?), even if you change something there, your perception of your kitchen will be diffrent. Say you decide you want to put curtains on windows (have no idea whether you want to-just an example). As you'll see them from the kitchen-the overall perception of space will change. And will feel newer, (it can be light fixture, new art added, many things). You can also put some crock you really like, in the kitchen, or any accessory like that that will be both functional but will uplift your mood. I agree you don't need anything on the top of your cabinets. Unless you are, say, an avid collector of teapots, and ran out of space, and ..along these lines:) But no, they look good empty. Comments (1)So you are removing all the tile and replacing it with vinyl plank is that right? As for flooring color if you are painting the cabinets then anything will work . BTW I would strongly suggest you get the cabinets done by a pro unless you have done a lot of cabinet painting and spraying . BTW gray and beige rarely work together and wall color is the last choice you make and the floors the first then you decide cabinet color, then counters then backsplash....See More- 9 years ago

I love my faucet and it was a very reasonable price . I also love my countertop mounted pot filler faucet beside the stove . This is going to be a life saver for me because I can no longer lift a pot full of water . I didn't even know they made countertop models I had only seen the ones mounted on the back splash of the stove but I don't have room there. My husband is the one that came up with the idea . We have water in that wall because the atrium water faucet is right on the other side . So it was very easy . Easy to fill the gumbo pot! I love these red accent shotgun shell end brand pieces .

This is the inspiration for the bigger pantry . I want to be that organized . I want those baskets . My husband was going to build the shelves but I think we are going to use the same exact kind from Lowe's . We shall see . . . This is the awesome blog where I found this and she provides links to everything . It's a really good blog.
