I lost my beloved lane cedar chest in the flood, surprisingly even though it was solid wood it completely came apart. It possibly could have been put back together after drying out and being sterilized but it was hauled off. I must have something similar to go at the foot of our king size bed for sheet storage, but mostly it is my little dogs method to get on the bed. Jump on the chest then to the bed. We tried doggy stairs but she was scared of them. So I need a replacement for the cedar chest and have found 2 options. I am not spending much money on this because we have an antique cedar chest my husband inherited which is at our farm house. Some day it will be here. My bedroom has a commercial type low pile gray carpet, the blue gray krypton paint, white trim. Furniture is various shades of brown, dark mostly.
One of these is a little longer than the other. Both have hinged lids I am partial to furniture with legs now after the flood! Please vote. The fabric one is a tweed looking gray fabric, the other is a leather look. Both are under $200. I like both.

Calligaris Furniture - Opinions, please?
Comments (23)BUYER BEWARE : Calligaris have beatufiul tables but their service is TERRIBLE! We ordered a Calligaris Airport table in September 2014. It is now March 2016 and we are still waiting for a working table. The problem is that their tables are very sophisticated but their packaging and instruction manuals leave a lot to be desired. We opted for full professional assembly service by the supplier chosen courier company but they were unable to assemble the table such that it operated correctly. It is unclear if the table was faulty or if mistakes were made in assembly either way the way we have been treated by Calligaris is frankly disgusting. I am very angry with these guys because they have had all our money and now could not care less about sorting the problem out. The original problem was that the table didn't open correctly and now after their courier attempted to install a new frame they actually broke the original frame but the new one was faulty. Thanks to Calligaris we have now had 2 christmas' with no dining table. After a further 3 months I am still awaiting an ETA for the replacement frame, which is now over 18 months since we paid them !!!! - it is so bad that I feel ashamed that I was so stupid to give 1600 euro in advance for this table. I am now trying to fight back by letting the world know how bad Calligaris can be once they have had your money. Comments (39)OK, this ties in nicely with my "Comparing Blue Salvias" thread, so I wanted to revive it and re-read it. Now, it's 8 years later, and many health problems, plus the ever-worsening summer climate in Italy, have slowed my progress considerably. But now, here I am, stuck at home by the need to recover from hip replacement ,and so I've been passing the time in part by planning my new foray into perennials. Hopefully, this time I'll have better luck. First of all, I have installed a DIY drip system in 2 areas of the garden. Secondly, I'm ordering perennials from an on-line nursery this time, rather than getting them from local stores -and I'm recieving them now, so I can grow them on in pots for a couple of months before putting them out in the garden in the fall,which is THE time to plant stuff here (fall, and winter,at least for trees and shrubs -roses included). I have ordered: 1) Nepeta Six Hills Giant 2) 3 salvia Caradonna 3) 3 ajuga Black Scallop 4) phlox sub. Mac Daniel's Cushion 5) 3 phlox sub, Purple Beauty 6) 2 salvia Sensation Deep Blue 7) gentian scabra Luis Blue My selection was partly conditioned by availability,as well as financial concerns (that is why I only got one of some of them). I also checked out the Jelitto perennial sed site,selecting plants that are not offered as seeds,and I tried to get stuff that will more or less bloom with the roses, though that is a big incognito. On the nursery's site, they said the salvias should start in May,though the tags say June, but clearly only time will tell for that. I also have a few columbines, iris and saponarias ordered previously,plus a lithodora and 2 Veronica Georgia Blue. I'm hoping to put most of these plants in the floribunda beds which are ob drip. Comments (10)London staging, unfortunatly that little table can’t be moved, it holds a zillion compone for our tv and sound system. When the av people came to wire everything they were supposed to build a little shelf to hold everything but where unable to because of the window ledge. That’s the smallest table I could find to hold everything- my husb originally had a black glass what I call “dorm room style” huge shelf. There are also speakers (surround sound speakers are everywhere- it’s my husbands thing) on the wall behind the couch. Because of them, it makes putting that art on that wall impossible. Comments (55)I would look into thermally-broken aluminum windows. They are more expensive than vinyl but less expensive than wood or wood-aluminum windows, around 5-10% (depending on the brand). Aluminum is far more durable than vinyl, plus more energy-efficient (depending on the brand). They are powder-coated so they are more resistant to fading, chipping, and scratching as well. Generally, you can also get dual-color options with one exterior color and one interior color (this is something we offer with no upcharge but not sure regarding other brands). Here's a historic-retro fit we did with wood-aluminum windows (full gallery here), to provide you with more examples while you deliberate on which route to take.
