Man, it's such a pain in the butt to update trade pages.
Comments (7)Midwesterner, I too grow a lot of natives from seed and overall it's much easier and simpler to buy the species I want. If it's a cultivar, I want them to seed true. It's not very expensive to buy a packet of seeds and get lots of plants, vs. buying a few small plants for triple or more the price of a packet of seeds. Last winter I had purchased so many seeds, that I did a SASBE offer on the seed exchange. Got a great response and sent out at least 20 SASBEs! I have also traded for seeds and germatinated some nice plants, although trade seeds can be iffy, in terms of origin, chaff and viability. For example one trader listed a white Monarda on their trade list and sent a whole Monarda seedhead, which I tore apart and ended up with about 7 seeds (that didn't sprout)....See MoreUPDATE: now cut that out round robin swap #5

Comments (150)Angela, that is what I did. The prob. with it is I zip tied my tiny little lights on and have to prop up my flats until the plants are big enough. It is a huge pain. There is also really only room for 1 flat per shelf. I figured it out according to Lowes $ for lumber and the cheapest shop lights they show online and I think you could build one for around 75-80. In my opinion, by the time you purchase the shelving unit and a couple lights, you might as well do this. I think you will have much more room and it will work better as far as moving the lights up and down. Just my opinion, though. If you already have a shelving unit, it might make more sense to do that until later, but the lumber is only going to cost around 20 bucks right now, at least in my area. OSB is $6 and 2x4 or 1.77 here. I am not sure you can buy a shelving unit, even cheap plastic for that. I just need an upgrade or more room or something....See Moreanyone else ever troubled by pleurisy?
Comments (7)I had it off and on for almost 30 years from the time I was about 19. At first it was frequent, eventually, about twice a year. Now it has been about 10 years since I had an attack, so I guess I don't have it any more. My doctor said that I had discovered a good way to cope (hold my ribs tight while I breathed, so it didn't hurt much) but don't worry about it, it isn't a serious condition....See MorePawprint
