Thanks everyone for all of your responses!! It sounds pretty unanimous for the medicine cabinet(s). I think it would probaly be better to have two since I could have one and my husband could have his -hopefully he will use it. For now most of his toiletries remain on the counter. -Thanks again, DG

I purchased a wall mounted medicine cabinet to go above our pedestal sink in our guest bathroom. The medicine cabinet can not be recessed since there is a vent pipe running in the wall directly behind it. The problem is that I purchased a medicine cabinet that has decorative molding along the top which protrudes 7" from the wall and the light fixture that I had bought only extends 6" from the wall. We can't have sconces since there is not enough room along one of the sides. Will it look stupid to place this light above the medicine cabinet or do I need to buy a more shallow medicine cabinet (something that I should have done in the first place but I had gotten a really good deal on the one which we have). -Thanks, DG

Natal-It's the large Cartwright we are considering. Thanks for the additional info. re: the width. That may or may not help. In my last post I included a pic. that shows my main dilema which is a wall the butts right up against one side of the vanity. I will also try a mock up but I was just wanting to weigh my options since I don't have much faith in being able to use the side sconces.
