Brad, I've made this one, it's red, though, not green. I froze extra punch in a rubber glove for a floating hand, and made some ice cubes with plastic spiders and bugs in them to add to the punch bowl, the kids liked it.

They also liked something I called Goblin Snot, it was 3 cups of apple juice and 3 cups of 7 Up with two boxes of jello. Make the jello with water like the box says, but add it to the punch just when it's setting up. It's the nastiest gelatinous green goop ever, and the kids loved it.

Have fun at the party, I'm waiting to see the costume!

I've been making a yummy & easy fruit juice-based Halloween punch every year w/ our kids @ playcamp. We call it "Graveyard Punch", but I think "Vampire's Punch" is even more appropriate.

It's basically 1 container each of purple grape juice & orange or pineapple/orange juice concentrates, which create a very bloodlike color, mixed w/ a about 3 liters (1 & 1/2 bottles) of seltzer (I use flavored, unsweetened seltzer; lemon-lime or raspberry ) & a cup or so of mashed strawberries (fresh or frozen), which look a lot like bloody pulp. The finishing touch is a dead man's hand (or 2) made from filling unpowdered disposable gloves w/ water & green food coloring w/ a drop or 2 of red added to make them a yucky green color & freezing them. If the fingers break off when unmolding - even better!

I also made an optional garnish of soaked chia seeds - a.k.a. 'eye of newt' or 'frog's eggs'.

Annie, I like the sound of that Goblin Snot Punch. I may not let it set up like you did, but that's a good base for what I was aiming for.

Here is the Witches' Brew I came up with (altered from a Fruity Daiquiri Punch recipe I found over on cooks.com).

Witches' Brew

12 oz. can frozen lemonade, thawed

12 oz can frozen limeade, thawed

12 oz. can margarita mix, thawed

1 to 2 packets green apple or lemon lime Kool Aid

3 1/4 cups apple juice

1 cup orange juice (I usually use Bright and Early, an orange flavored drink which is a lot like orange juice)

1/3 cup Triple Sec, optional

Lemon lime or other citrus flavored soda (such as Squirt-which is grapefruit flavored)

Ice ring or Halloween shaped ice cubes

In punch bowl or large bowl combine limeade, lemonade and margarita mix. Stir in Kool Aid, fruit juices, and Triple Sec, if desired. Chill until needed. At serving time, add carbonated beverage, and ice ring or shaped ice cubes. Enjoy!

2 quarts cranberry raspberry juice, plus 1/2 cup extra for garnish

2 cups orange juice

1 Liter ginger ale or Sprite/7 up

The kids like this, and even the adults would drink it, even with the ice ring full of plastic spiders and bats, LOL. The adults tended to add a slug of Limoncello or vodka...

Yours sounds like something everyone would like, and I think green lime koolaid would be good, with the citrus thing going on!

It sounds good, Annie! I would definitely add a touch of alcohol to my glass lol. If I make it, I might use cranberry apple juice instead of cran-raspberry.

I just may try the recipe I worked out, provided that there is some Triple Sec at the theatre.

Brad, as long as you don't make "kitty litter" (cereal in a litter pan that has globs of melted chocolate tossed in. lol!), I'd be happy. :)

Your planned punch sounds great. One neat idea I saw on-line recently is to have a container larger than your punch bowl (preferably a cauldron), put dry ice in that and set your punch bowl on top. The dry ice makes it smoke like a cauldron. Then get a white latex-type glove and fill it with something, seal it, and squeeze it between the containers to look like a hand creeping out. :O)

No plans on making that dish, party_music. Gross!!!! Lol

I will have to see if that can be possible for my punch, as it will really make it look like a witch's brew ;).

I did find one interesting ingredient that would work for my punch, should I fail to find the green apple Kool-Aid: Jolly Rancher Green Apple flavored gelatin!

A simple but gross looking punch that we often make for halloween is to take limeade, and add lime sherbet. One addition I always wanted to try was to first put a piece of dry ice in the bowl, frozen to the bottom with a few drops of water then add the punch.
