This may not help at all, but one of the first things I'd do is to reboot the computer and also reboot the router.

I would also try turning off the printer and restarting it as well.

Is the printer still connected to wireless? It might have an indicator light and/or a button showing if it is connected.

For the scanner, have you used it since it was set up?

Do you know if your nephew installed the software for the scanner from a disc or from the internet?

The drivers might need to be updated.

It could be a widows 10 update, I have been reading about some serious problems caused by the updates. When everything worked fine and now suddenly doesn't you may have gotten an update that is responsible.

Texas gem, everything worked after nephew set things up. He downloaded the drivers directly from the Internet.

Raven, I can't remember if I have had an update install since then or not. I am in a major brain fog this week. Some serious things happening in addition to the computer issues. Which is why I need the scanner. That will be a seperate post in the next few days.

These product specs only mention USB.

I think some good thoughts have been offered. Situations like this can be very hard/impossible to fix without being in the same room as the equipment. I suggest getting your nephew to come back or find someone else who can.

The easiest way may be to just reinstall it fresh again. I know I have had to do that with ours a time or two.

Thank you everyone. Justin Young, I am sorry if it sounded like the scanner is wireless. It is wired, USB. It is the printer that is wireless. Everything else in the house will print wirelessly. I can deal with the printer if I have too. I really need the scanner up and running so I guess I will try reinstalling it.

Maybe you need to download the newest updates and drivers for the scanner. My HP printer (it's OLD!) just downloaded new drivers automatically last week. Works like a charm now.

DH asked last night if I had put the new router password in when hooked up to the printer. Um he didn't tell me I had to do that when he set up the new router. So will try that for the printer. I will uninstall the scanner and reinstall . Hope it works.

Until you solve your problem can you scan to a flash drive or camera card? Does your scanner have an open usb port or card reading slot? I had to do that when my scanner would no longer work with the computer. Then I would download the scan to the computer. So it was a two step operation but it worked.

Ghoghunter, I may have to try that route with a different scanner. It just won't scan anything over a 4x6.

The thing is, I need to scan pics of mom. We have maybe a day or two left with her so trying to get ahead a bit for the funeral home. I have photos sorted. I just was hoping to have some of them scanned before we got that close

Tami, I am sorry to hear about your mother. The stress of what you're going through certainly doesn't help when you're trying to quickly fix a computer/printer/scanner issue.

But, yes, you definitely need to enter the new router password for the wireless connection to work. Once you've done that, the printer will work properly.

I am so sorry to hear about your mother . Here's what I had to do for mom's funeral . I was traveling to Louisiana pulling the rv when I got a call from my sister that the funeral home needed the pictures emailed to them immediately so they could create the video and the memory books and the framed picture . I had all of my pictures . I sat in my passenger seat in the truck going down the road and took pictures of the pictures on my phone ! I then emailed all of those to the funeral home . I was so afraid it would be terrible but honestly they were fine no one knew they were pictures of pictures . So you could do that too and a much better job sitting still at a table ! They can be emailed or you can send them to a photo place for printing , Walmart , CVS , all sorts of places can do it . So thinking out side of the box might be the best option .

I also put all the pictures in a folder and emailed the folder to the family members and friends so they had their own private copy almost like a memory book . They liked it better than just getting a printed picture they have a selection . I took the same folder of pictures and put it in an online storage file , like Dropbox , and shared the link to it at the funeral for anyone that wanted to view or copy them.

Good idea if I need it, Raven. We will be putting together a DVD for the funeral home to play as a slideshow like we did for my dad

\That was a good idea. For Dad's my brothers emailed me photos, and I put them all on a dvd for the funeral home, and copied to dvds for them, and anyone else that wanted. I have not mastered Dropbox yet. I think I am going to have to. I like Evernote better, but I can't access it when I don't have internet, since I use the free version. I keep a lot of my most used knitting and crochet patterns in Evernote.

I'm so sorry about your mom. Is there any way you could use the scanner on the the all-in-one printer ? It should be very simple to use.Perhaps a family member or friend could help you learn how to use the printer scanner, or scan the photos for you.

Since you are in a hurry, Staples and other office supply stores can scan them for you. Then you don't need to rush dealing with the problem. So sorry about your mother.

I uninstalled the scanner and reinstalled. It is now working. I haven't attempted anything with the printer yet. Thank you for your help
