Gardenweb pop ups from houzz :((((

This is very disappointing. I so enjoy Gardenweb and houzz but for the past 3 days I have had these annoying pop ups asking me to supply my e-mail for tips from Houzz. At first I ignored them but finally gave in and supplied my e-mail. Then changed my sign in name when they continued. Went through the change of password etc...now they are still there. It's about every minute. Any ideas?

I have had the same issue and it probably has driven people away. Seems to be gone now. Maybe they gave up on me?

How strange. Mine seem to have gone away too. Right after I posted that :-0. In the meantime apparently I now have a new "name"

Here's how to install Linelle's javascript in Safari for iOS. Then you have it for any page on any site: There is no built in way to get quickly to the bottom of a page. However, this neat trick should work. If you want to go to the bottom of any web page in Safari you can do it using a bookmark and javascript. Using your iPhone, go to any page and save a bookmark (this one will do). Then copy the following line on your iPhone (the usual way). javascript:window.scrollTo%280%2C100000%29 Edit the bookmark you created. Rename it something like "Go to bottom" and then replace the url with the above (paste it in). The next time you are viewing a page and want to go to the bottom, just select that bookmark and it will take you to the bottom of the page.

annoying houzz pop up

That Houzz Design pop up comes up when I want to move from a particular thread on, for example, Perennials, back to Perennials. There's a button to click on top left and when I do I get this dang pop up. I refuse to click on it so I type in "Garden Web perennials" into my search engine and get to perennials the hard way. I avoid the dang pop up but not the annoyance. I used to encounter another pop up (forgot how to describe it) and discovered it came up because I wasn't signed in. Mercifully, I remain perpetually signed in on my iPad so that one doesn't annoy me anymore.

I'm having a different experience. I used the old garden web and then had to take 4-5 years off to get a new garden started. I have always bookmarked pages, and I have garden web pages bookmarked, both the master list of GW forums Master list of GW forums and the forums I visit most. In addition, as I've done some painting, etc, to a house that needs work in more than painting, I've really enjoyed Houzz's other features and am glad have it. They have a very easy format for me to look at other non-garden house "stuff" and I've gotten some valuable info, too. Maybe add some bookmarks? GW is pretty painless for me right now with bookmarks, and I LOVE how easy it is to add photos. Before I had to use Photobucket, which is under no circumstances an option since they started charging in the hundreds for the use of their services. Very glad I can upload pictures from my computer directly now.

I found this Decorating part of GW via its Kitchens. Forum. As we were starting to plan our total kitchen gut and remodel, the folks on the Kitchens were a huge fountain of information and advice. Everything from how and what to do to set up a good, working temporary kitchen, to opinions on granite vs Silestone and other counter choices, appliances, andvwhere to find the best hardware for my new cabs online. I learned about Silgranit kitchen sinks, ordered one at the recommended online place. . . and will be forever grateful for that! Gosh, I love that sink!!! I saved so much money and stress by accessing Kitchens! And then one final bit of advice on how to keep your sanity through it all: a glass or three of wine every evening (LOL)! From there, I found our wonderful GW decorating forum.

Ditto with pudgeder. If I'm not logged in I get a pop up everytime I read a post.

But when I'm logged in, the harassment is minimal.

Does anyone remember the hotlink keywords in the old GW format? Certain words would be underlined when you scrolled over, and would link to a product or ad. I typed 'fridge' in a post in the Kitchens forum yesterday, and noticed later that it was highlighted as a link. I clicked to check and was taken to a HD page selling ... refrigerators. I went back and edited it to see what would happen, and the link disappeared. I hadn't even looked at refrigerators, so it couldn't have come from my computer. Anyone else notice a rogue link?

Yes I remember those. I thought they were annoying & gone. I'd accidentally click on an underlined word & it would take me somewhere else. You mean they're back?? Uggg. Don't see them when I read posts on my iPhone.
