All this talk of "purging binges" makes me feel queasy. It sounds like an eating disorder. ; ) Mora, sounds like good advice. I've unraveled my poor scarf so many times, I'm worried the yard will wear down before I ever get to wrap it around my neck in scarf form. I suppose technically one end is no longer virgin wool. So far, only one cat wants to eat the yarn, the other two can't be bothered. I was up late the other night struggling with a mysterious increase and I looked around and felt like I was in a picture. I had the faux-fire going and a cat sleeping on my lap, it was nice. Marilyn, I keep forgetting to say thanks for your encouragement. I think now that I have at least a basic grasp of the knit stitch (and I'm a master at casting on...grr), that darn crochet stitch I could never figure out is starting to make sense, so maybe I'll pick that up again too. I have watched those on-line knitting videos so many times late at night that they have started looking like peculiar art films. Two hands wafting and knitting against a red background. It's the best thing to induce sleep I've found in years! Do I remember Dawn? Of course! I lurk on her blog now and then, she's a hoot. I like being able to peek over her shoulder and see how the adventurous half live. She's amazing. I hope you have fun in your knitting group. For me, the best part of the small group here is that we are incredibly diverse and all eager to share our opinions on just everything. The knitting lessons aren't too bad either. Diana, that's rich! Heck, I'm glad that the egg is being enjoyed. Beatrice has squirreled away the leftover cotton balls, we keep finding them everywhere.

Brooklyn, Yeah I know why the lakes create Lake Affect snow. These bands were moving due south, to southeast. The first burst of snow we got about 1/2 inch but that was on the back side of the low pressure system that is now way up in Maine. This second burst of snow brought about 1/2 inch, but you would never know it because it was so dry and powdery, and we had 40mph winds so it was blowing around like a blizzard. It only really "accumulated" in certain areas. It was 18F when this snow happened so as soon as the snow hit something it just bounced off in the wind and blew elsewhere. Normally the snow will melt just enough to stick but this time it just blew away and only accumulated in cracks or edges of the road or grasses and protected areas. These lake affect bands were traveling more south/southeast than southeast, and somehow were making it OVER the mountains. Normally the orthographic lift of the mountains to our west will wring out what moisture is left from these clouds / bands, but that did not happen this time. Not only did they make it over the mountains, but they regenerated once away from the mountains, then it looked like they were even further enhanced on the leeward (east) side of the Chesapeake bay. Its already noon here and its only 23F. The high today is probably going to be 25F.

5PM wedding .... A knee to mid knee length summer silk or soft fabric dress. Long glitzy dress and required only if the invitation says "black tie". okwriter....I wear two outfits, if it's local - go home to vhange. This was my nephew's wedding last year. I wore a silk suit to the wedding, then, after the ceremony, we checked into our hotel, and I changed into a long dress for the evening reception. This is fairly common around here, and often the mothers of the bridal couple also change into evening dresses.

andrew-love dormers, that is an amazing transformation. Are you living IN it mid demo? I am a fellow Michigander as well. Michelle-ummm, well yes there are a *few* things I would change, lol. Overall it's fine but I really really really wish we would have buffered the master area a little better due to the opposite shift thing. I love that I can get into the bathroom/closet without disturbing dh (and turn the lights on and see my clothes and all that fun stuff) but wish we would have had the closet between the bedroom and the bath instead of the other way around. I do wake up when he comes home at 3 a.m. and that is a bummer because I never used to. But for normal schedules the layout we have would have been just fine. The other thing is I think I would have put a door in by our locker area that faces front - a friend/family type entrance. Not a big deal but I think we would have used it. The locker area is functioning well and I like that it's not in the walk way if all the gear doesn't get put away every time. According to dh I still have boxes in the barn that belong in the kitchen - say what? My kitchen is already functioning so what could they be??? Lol. After it warms a bit I will have to check it out. We are mostly settled though and I know where most everything is now, hehehe. My current hearts desire is grass. The dirt of course is covered by snow right now but I know it's there! I love my closet organizer system, that I have room to dress in my closet. I love my cabinets and my blum glides and my woodhollow inserts in my kitchen. I love my property and that our living areas face the back and that we get to enjoy that view every single day. I was also going to comment on your back yard discovery, did you snow shoe or cross country? I can't remember now but I remember that pic - awesome. We found a whole trail system behind our house and I feel like we hit the jackpot. It is amazing. It is an equestrian trail but this time of year no horses on it - there are snowmobile trails too. DH and I have been doing some hiking. I love the fresh air and it is so beautiful to look at. I will be checking in time to time. I still covet your office off your kitchen. :D aimless-I keep reading my head Horton Hears a Who and was looking for a Dr. Seuss sign or something!
