Comments (64)Late to the discussion as usual... My sister was recently raving about Mrs. Maizel to me, but I have yet to check it out. I have recently discovered Documentary Now! on Netflix & really enjoy its escapist silly-ness. It's from a couple of years ago & I don't know how I missed it, but there is truly such a wealth of good entertainment nowadays, I don't know how anyone can keep up. Helen Mirren introduces every episode, Bill Hader & Fred Armisen star & executive producer is Lorne Michaels. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4677934/ I prefer comedy to drama, so I really don't follow the dark & sober stuff, tho hubby does....See MoreHave you watched anything good on Netflix?
Comments (170)CindyMac, I have to retract my favorable comments re: Handmaids Tale as we just finished watching the 2nd season. Without giving anything away, some character's took a bizarre explicable turn which cheapened the story. And it was torture porn without any emotional relief. To lighten up, we are watching THE QUEER EYE on Netflix. Although some of the antics are a bit MUCH, the transformations are enjoyable....See MoreUnbelievable, Netflix show and why do we have to use 15 characters?
Comments (37)I never read the original thread in September. Maybe I was banned in that period. We've been watching a lot of Netflix in the last few weeks since TV programming is all reruns. We watched both seasons of The Crown which we loved and both seasons of the Kominsky Method. Also loved it, but tonight we were looking for an hour-long show before bed. So I remembered the recent mention of this here and we watched it. I liked it a lot and can't wait to watch all eight episodes. Great acting. I'll have to google this and find out details....See MoreMaid on Netflix
Comments (15)We watched and were interested. Being from the area (No islands to pop over to and clean from PT) informed us about what we watched. It is a combination of reality and fantasy. I enjoyed it. You don't have to take it for totally real and I know that a good deal of what she writes is not something she experienced as in she did not have a manic mother and grew up middleclass. It is fiction but very good fiction that describes the realities of people around her. She was in a toxic relationship and did spend time in a shelter. She did clean houses and judge the wealthy people she cleaned for. I don't have a problem with the process. The acting was well done though Mcdowell might have pushed it a little. She made something of herself in spite of some serious issues. Celebrate....See MoreOlychick
