Linda - The recipe is from the Philadelphia brand cream cheese cheesecake cookbook (one of my favorite cookbooks!) - crust: nuts, sugar, butter - filling: 4 packages cream cheese, sugar, flour, eggs, sour cream, cold water, instant coffee, cinnamon. Think it would freeze? I won't have a problem making this the day of the party, but I haven't tried this recipe before so didn't want to risk it not turning out good at the last minute. Would like to make early to taste it - but, alas, I don't need a whole cheesecake! ~ Thanks ~ Suzie

I had to smile when I read your post, as it sounded just like me several years ago. Every year since 1967..I had an annual Chili Supper for all my neighbors (around 30) the Sat night before Xmas, then it moved up to an ultra fancy Open House Cocktail party for 60, every Xmas Eve. But the old grey mare-she ain't what she used to be..LOL! Now I alternate each year-one year it's a fancy cocktail party for 25 on Xmas Eve, and this year it's my Christmas Morning Breakfast Buffet for 20 guests. Well, I wondered because the bottom is removable, and I have visions of the batter leaking through. The recipe I wanted to use is on the thin side, so I didn't know how well this would work. I'd prefer to not have a mess, especially the first time out, as unfortunately, I can see this too well in my mind's eye. It is advertised as a cheesecake pan, which typically has a crust. You know, I bought some very thin drinking glasses, and saw my dh breaking them the first time he picked one up. I told him not to touch them, and he ended up breaking a glass out of the cabinet anyway. That stuff about ''visualizing'' is powerful stuff! Which makes me wonder if I need to use a batter that is thicker, like brownies or a coffeecake?

debi's post reminded me of something I forgot to put in my earlier post: It seems like a lot of couples today are under the impression that getting married entitles them to use everybody they've ever met to grab all the loot they can. If you're invited to a shower, you should be invited to the wedding, & if you haven't been invited to the wedding & to the reception, you aren't expected to provide a gift. If you're invited to the wedding but not the reception (ie, they don't have to feed you), my free advice is to send them a card & stay home. Some couples have found a new way to separate the A List & the B List: they have 2 receptions, 1 with champagne & a sit-down dinner & 1 with punch & cookies. Unfortunately, the B List guests don't find out about it until the actual event... People who put no reasonably or modestly priced items on their registries are putting their guests in an uncomfortable bind, & I always think it isn't accidental; they're using people & they know what they're doing.. This also applies to people who have many different registries & those who register for, say, 4 vacuum cleaners & 3 different food processors & a $300 toaster-people who do this are going to return most or all of their gifts for cash. Nobody has to buy their gift off a registry, or even any gift at all; do what your heart & your budget tell you.
