Ah! That is the same as the one I fawned over for 6 months from the Electrolux commercial, the one where she throws the cake in the air and it lands in the fridge. Oh well, I didn't go that route and I love my backsplash. Still, it is a relief to finally know what it is! Thanks BKW!

I too have CIS -- countertop indicision syndrome. What colors are you drawn too? Do you lean toward something light or dark? I think the trend is to have a contrasting countertop to your cabinets and since you have a lot of light things in your kitchen (wall color, appliances) dark would give it some *pop*. Does your kitchen get any natural light? If it does not, then I would not go too dark. My sister has natural maple cabinets, a similar color to yours. She has Zodiaq Vela Brown and it looks awesome. Plus, it is one of the cheaper colors. Something in the brown family would pick up the natural texture of the hickory. One of my friends has Smokey Topaz and it's really nice: I personally don't know anyone who has LG Viatera. For some reason I cannot post the LG colors, but there is a color called Volcanic rock that is similar to Vela Brown. There are several really dark colors with white flecks that would pick up your appliances: abyss, oahu, odessa Sorry if all my suggestions are too dark. Hopefully others will chime in. Good luck!

Hi Merimom, We are just finishing up our natural cherry kitchen with Montauk Black slate floor tile. We installed Piracema White granite on the coutertops. As you will see in the photos, there is a lot of dark gray veining and waves in the granite. Sorry TCB - just realized you are the OP :) - and just re read that you plan to change the hardware....are you doing this everywhere in the home? Will the ORB be on all door hardware throughout the home? I'd strongly suggest focusing on the tile (white with matching grout or subtlety darker grout like a bone white). Then do the hardware and select paint LAST. Thank you for the paint tone pictures with your floor - could you retake the shots with the paint samples propped vertically against the wall by the tile floor. Look at all samples as you will see them in real life because the light hits them different so anything vertical (like paint) should be evaluated vertically.
