Low-Cost Tree Protectors for Deer

Hi all. I have a couple acres that I would like to reforest (zone 5a) but there are lots of deer in the area. Are there any good solutions for protecting new trees that don't require fencing the entire property? I'm looking for lower-cost fencing for each tree that I can purchase in bulk. I didn't know if there was something easier and as effective as large spools of wire cages with T-posts since I'm looking at several hundred trees.

Also, how do you protect evergreens which don't have a single small trunk that you can fence when they're young? Is the only option fencing around the entire diameter of the tree? I'd like to avoid planting blue spruce and cedar since they take so long to grow.

I have used the sprays too with success, but having so many new trees would make that more prohibitive.
