Stains, 'green' detergents, and Tide
Comments (43)@ livebetter The HE version is not available in Cool Cotton, just Renewing Rain. I didn't like the scent at first either, it had funky and musty undertones. However, the last two bottles I've gone through have smelled much nicer- more flowery. I wonder if a bad batch of this stuff just made it through the supply chain, or maybe storing it under certain conditions causes the scent to change? Here is what I've noticed after using Tide HE Total Care after several washings. Fabrics feel more substantial - almost heavier - and fibers appear refreshed and less aged. I have also noticed deeper color returning to my dark washables that previously appeared slightly faded. There is definitely something to this product when it comes to keeping clothes looking their best. While the effects are noticeable after a single washing, you'll really start noticing the changes after washing several times. Two throw blankets that I've recently started washing in Tide HE w/ Bleach have come back to life. I used to wash these items in Charlie's Soap and various other green or natural products, which has taken its toll. The white areas are dingy grey and the colors appear to have faded. A few washings in Tide HE w/ Bleach has restored the white areas and made the colored areas more vibrant. Darker colors on the blanket also appear richer, perhaps due to the improved contrast when compared to the white areas. For those who have experienced unsatisfactory results with their green and natural products, there's still hope! Wash your items in a good quality detergent like Tide HE and a potent fabric softener like Downy and you will see your fabrics come back to life....See MoreTide with Bleach Powder, Original Scent is awesome
Comments (28)I bought the Tide powder with bleach orignal scent, it is not HE. At the beginning of this post, some said that the indregients had a suds, surpressor in it or sompthing like that. I find that one or two of the coffee scooups works in my washer according to load size and soil level. I have a 9 yr old Kenmore He3T. Drum capasity is 3.7 cu ft, and my washers uses 15.8 gallons of water per load. The ride resembles Persil in seem, just a nice clean scent that I have yet to find heavy of my clothes after they are washed and dried. I will continue to use it. BTW all my oily work clothes came out very well. I cant say that they were any cleaner, than if I used gain HE or Tide HE, but I was very satisfied with the results. My work clothes consist of Jeans, and Scrub tops, I got them cheap, and they work out great for work, wash good too, even on sanitary cycle right along with the jeans...See MoreCheer
Comments (16)Pat, it's so sweet you remembered his name! Isn't the perfume strong out of the box? My washer is in a closet in the middle of my living area. Scents coming from the washer can be overwhelming and travel throughout my loft if I use heavily scented products. A little scent is okay....See MoreGuess What I Just Did?
Comments (6)I've never done this with a laundry detergent but did it with the Grapefruit Method Smarty DW tabs. One tab is WAY too much for the average load and even my strong hands couldn't break them easily. SO, I blitzed them in an old blender until they were a coarse powder. Problem solved! Easily dosed and/or mixed with STPP. I'm surprised cutting up the Tide F/G pods worked. Did you have to squeeze the liquid portion of the detergent out of each compartment of the pod?...See Morelarsi_gw
