I can't do all the trim in the rest of the house SuperWhite because it was just painted with the Decorators White. We had to cover the White Dove or Linen so Romy, I know exactly what difference you are talking about. The painter felt that going to the SuperWhite would require more coats and cost more money than going to the Decorator's White. But at the same time, he said that I wouldn't really notice the difference between the Decorator's white and the SuperWhite and that maybe all the molding should be Decorator's White to have one color. Good idea to have him test it. Maybe one version is just the cabinet molding SuperWhite, satin sheen and the adjacent Decorator White Semi-gloss. The different sheens might give the illusion it is the same color but just a different sheet. I could also try all Decorator's White Semi. There is some of the Decorator's white on the door to the dining room which borders the kitchen cabinets but the lighting isn't very good there to compare the two colors side by side. Thank you! Please hire a Pro immediately. You are going about this completely incorrectly. Thinset is NEVER used to build up thickness. Ever. The fact that the floor is out of level doesn’t mean the ceiling is too, but if it is, your Kitchen Designer will have about a half dozen different ways of dealing with that, depending on the site and needs. The #1 thing that needs to happen before anything else is that you get in a knowledgeable contractor, or preferably a structural engineer. You need to know WHY your floor is so out of level. A 3” drop is HUGE. And that indicates an underlying issue that needs attention before anything else happens.

but contractor is telling us that is our only option unless we get a customize size cabinet. I am a little confused about the math here and why your contractor is saying custom sizes. You did not provide information on most of the measurements. I have 9' ceilings with stacked cabinets. Here are my measurements: Floor to top of counters = 36" Distance from counters to bottom of upper cabinets = 18" First row of upper cabinets = 36" tall Top stack of upper cabinets = 15" tall Crown = 3" Many people get 6" crown. I wanted a smaller crown, with a 15" upper stack. Just my preference. None of the sizes were custom. If I had to do a new kitchen, I might make the upper stack a bit taller than 15" and the lower stack a bit shorter than 36", because I have seen that proportion on this forum and like it. But I would keep the crown at 3", which I prefer, but many people like a bigger crown, so it's personal taste.

ffjunk, of course it's a personal choice, but thought I should add, we have a situation similar to yours, with a pass-through window between painted cabinets, as well as a pocket door between a cabinet and a cabinet pantry. Our cabinet crown molding, and our whole house crown molding are the same heights, but different cuts, so the choice was easier for us - keep the same crown molding throughout the kitchen, though it is open concept. We are using stop blocks at the pocket door crown as the pantry is a stained along with the crown molding above it, and the cabinet adjacent is painted, along with the crown above that. The trim around the door will be painted the same as the cabinet/cabinet crown molding. Our ceilings are 9'. We are also using a stop block where the whole house crown meets the kitchen cabinetry crown - it would be very difficult to both cope and scribe the crowns to match and we prefer the stop blocks. I don't have photos as we are still in the midst of remodeling and our cabinet maker has yet to bring and install the stop blocks.
