Insecticidal Soap for Chinch Bugs in St. Augistine Grass in Austin?

Hi there,
I've got a chinch bug issue in my front-yard St. Augustine. I just didn't water enough in July. After some research, I've concluded that insecticidal soap is my best option as the infected areas are each about 4 ft. x 4 ft. I found this info for how to use insecticidal soap and was wondering if it seems correct:
"drench the thatch layer thoroughly with insecticidal soap (2%
concetration) every 3 to 4 days for two weeks. Less frequent
applications (e.g., once weekly) over several weeks may be satisfactory;
don't make the intervals between application less than 3 to 4 days.
Apply the soap early in the day or early evening; avoid mid-day under
direct sun. Water the damaged areas and their immediate environs through
the remaining droughty periods to minimize water stress on the grass,
and mow at 3 inches (7.5 cm height), or at the highest setting your
mower will allow."
Anyone out there want to comment, or give me some advice? I'd like to avoid calling a service because I don't want to get trapped in some commitment.
