It looks to me that, because of the side of the case, the light would have to swing out and around, at which point it would be in front of the pillows, not next to or behind your head where you'd want it to, say, read in bed....See MoreTuesday hidden home decor.
Comments (8)I think the uncentered middle hinge was so that it would be lower than the bottom shelf, so that I could use longer screws with out the fear that they'd poke through the side of the shelf and be visible. I realized that these are older pictures, and that since then I cut a hole in the lower part of the back panel and installed a door there so I have hidden storage inside my hidden storage....See MoreHidden home decor for Tuesday

Comments (11)When I was doing real estate appraisals in SoCal, I appraised a house in Whittier that had a pool table that lowered into a temperature-and-humidity-controlled vault. The owners spent a small fortune on that feature, but, unfortunately, it didn't add nearly as much value to the house. Not a big demand for pool tables, much less one that lowers into a vault like that....See More
