Comments (13)The sliding cabinet door is too obvious so I would think that would not be it. It does look as if both units move. There is space at the bottom of them. They also look quite heavy! The one on the right looks as if it could be a murphy bed but also looks like it would open into a passage way. Maybe the sliding cabinet door opens a bar and then the side unit is a door to the wine cellar/liquor closet. That recessed corner space is housing something....See MoreSaturday Hidden home decor

It looks to me that, because of the side of the case, the light would have to swing out and around, at which point it would be in front of the pillows, not next to or behind your head where you'd want it to, say, read in bed....See MoreWednesday hidden home decor
Comments (17)I also found a picture of the bedroom beyond the bookcase door The house had some great features, most notably being right across the street from the harbor, with this for a view: The house itself was cute: and it had a large backyard, with terraced gardens However the kitchen was outdated and more importantly (in my opinion) it sloped down a couple of inches from the near side of the kitchen to the far side. Which I felt indicated foundation problems (well that, and the fact that you could see light through portions of the "rubble" foundation). My wife's family was fortunate that they found a buyer motivated enough by the location to ignore those potential issues....See MoreHidden home decor for Thursday
Comments (11)When I was doing real estate appraisals in SoCal, I appraised a house in Whittier that had a pool table that lowered into a temperature-and-humidity-controlled vault. The owners spent a small fortune on that feature, but, unfortunately, it didn't add nearly as much value to the house.
