Framing Question LVL, Steel beams or Truss Load Bearing

Gentlemen,

I am in a bit of a quandary here. Ended up with this open concept family room on the first floor, but now having second doubts about the feasibility and cost.

Basically got this design for a 17x16 room adjoined to the kitchen on one end. A buddy said that I'd need extra bracing = extra $$. I looked up and an extra steel beam spanning this length runs about $3000 easily installed. The LVLs have a high footprint on the ceiling based on the span charts I looked up. Finally trusses which seemed ok pricewise may be hard to physically implement as they would extend about a foot below ceiling and still need column supports every 10 or so feet.

Can someone recommend a solution. I already made sure the floor above aligns to carry the load to the 17x16 space. However need your thoughts on approaches to consider.
