editing to add- such a strange layout for a kitchen. Unless the camera is using a funny lens, it looks like the cook would be walking a lot.

Under the counter where the glasses are, there's a stool or garbage container tucked in.

I suspect the sink on the right and with a window from the light that seems to come from there. The range hood is disguised, hidden, I haven't seen that particular application or at least haven't seen it often.

I think that looks like a stool too in the space under the bit of counter with apples/glasses too...coffee for one.

Editing: I know what it is, but I didn't find it myself. And wouldn't have.

What are we supposed to be looking for?

Rusty, yes that is the fridge and freezer. That is what the paneled ones look like, so I hope that is not what Annie is suggesting. (I have one that is similar and they are pretty common)

Not sure I like it though. Not only would the sliding door get greasy, but it doesn't look that convenient to reach, (burned chest anyone?) and I'm not sure how hot it gets being that close to the oven which isn't good for spices. Also not sure how you grab it as there doesn't seem to be a handle or even a finger grip. But it is certainly well hidden!

I agree with all your points Annie. That doesn't do a thing for me.

It's weird that there isn't something behind the glass china cabinet though. It's decidedly out of character, decor-wise, and it's also pushed forward ahead of the other entrance door, which leaves room for storage space of some sort.

Strange that they would have spices behind the cooktop. Aren't spices supposed to be kept away from heat? That's what I've always thought anyway.

Maybe it is enough to the side? I guess you would not reach over, but get the spices from the side and have them ready for when you cook.

I don't find this particular kitchen appealing. I love the idea of hidden doors and cabinets, etc. I had an appliance garage in my last house. If we ever build again, it's going to be extra expensive because I have more ideas now.

Being somewhat handicapped, this kitchen looks like mine or any cooks worst nightmare. You would be moving food across wide open spaces constantly. There is no flow to the usual method of handling the creation of a meal.

Hidden storage has been getting more and more popular, there's lots on Pinterest, really neat ideas. The minimalist look kind of requires it. Pop up electrical outlets, tile covers that Velcro onto recessed outlets, to match the backsplash, etc. I think there are a lot more hidden things in the kitchen shown. That diagonal cabinet under the hidden spice area looks to have a clasp at the top.
