Brain strain first year

Ive been growing brain strain first year pods everywhere but not uniform could this be just from the first year and balance out next year if i save seed and grow

Bruce, those are hybridized, if they're actually part Brain Strain. The green pod in the middle reminds me of the Yellow Cardi Scorpion I grew years ago.

These are some Brain Strain pods that I grew in 2014, and I'm fairly confident that they grew true. Very stable and uniform shape.

I agree with Josh, not a brain strain. Also skin is too smooth to be a brain strain.

jdfanatic, i've decided to go with the bx1850 for a couple of reasons: the tilling will be done in sections/determined by the infrequent amounts of time that i get to do anything outside/a dispensation granted only by the queen and/or my two girls (ages 8&7). another major reason is the 2k price point difference between the bx1850 and bx2350. i am honestly stretching to get into the little kubota. again my property is only an acre and a half. were it to be larger, and dollars not a true limiting factor . . . i'd probably be looking at/driving a deere 2305. about the tiller. . . i have yet to do my homework. i will have to reconcile the differences between kubota, befco and king kutter. thank you all for your input. robert a. aloha

Ah Brain Strains one of my favorite peppers. They do take a little longer to flower and set. Than the jalap's and hab's. The cool nights are probably playing a role. Especially if the temps are below 65f. But when they do start they load up. Very prolific.

Hey Joanna- Congrats on the new job! Brody's a cutie, he looks like your DH. I love the captions too! Naked Nap time! lol I can't believe he's 14+ pounds already! Katie is so little-I worry she's not gaining enough. Katie rolls over, but she spends a lot of time on her tummy, so she has a crazy strong neck. Olivia was about 4-5 months when she did it. Hope your job is great!! We still need to get together sometime!

This is a photo of my Yellow 7Pot Brainstrain from last year. It shows a fairly large range of pod characteristics on the same plant. Some of which are not unlike the OP's photo. Or, did I grow a U/I plant last year after all?

Yah, seems everything I am growing the last couple years have been crosses. My first few years growing, everything was growing true.

I feel like dumping almost my entire seed collection. I didn't mind a cross or two, but it is getting to be a real habit lately.

On another note, I do have one pod in that photo that looks like yours.

Update here.. ive got dozens of different pods goin on but heres a few
with the brain strain its going ok just been told by the company i bought them off that its normal as tine changes the pods will grow different year to year but the genes stay the same just like growing children...ill save the seeds from these pods and see if that theory is true nexf season and heres a mourga uv that had a accident mid uk season very small pods but doing ok

From your last set of pics those are Red Brain Strain. I grew them last year. Once they ripen cut one open. It should smell extremely fruity sweet. Be warned they are hot, and very potent.
