that's tight but pretty. What about finding a nice old table and sawing it in half. I've seen that used a number of times. The remaining legs give the look of a table, but the width of a shelf. I'd put the table under the window, where you have the open space of the connecting halfway.

Beautiful entry way! I have an "entry way" table and mirror - one piece. It is 27" at the top and only 12" deep. Please excuse the mess. It holds my leashes, helmet, hats, keys and miscellaneous stuff. The books on the bottom shelf are destined for Good Will if I ever remember to take them. :)

Is this considered a hall tree? I'm not sure. It is very handy though. And doesn't take up much room at all.

Yes I also have a hall tree and it is very useful for entry areas. I think mine is about 12 inches deep. Forget how wide it is.

Shades, it is just sitting on the sill. When opening the window, I only open the top. No big deal. I like it because it keeps me from looking at the neighbors' deck and they from looking in at me. Our houses are close and this gives both of us a little privacy. In winter I bring in my hibiscus (it's in a big pot) and I sit it on a little table in that window. I set the mosaic window aside so the hibiscus can get the light. I usually get flowers on that into November!!

You are brave. My kitties would pull that window down in an instant. They are very bratty. I was considering doing some more stained glass windows and hanging them as valances in the living room windows. Goody Goody I have four windows so lots of projects. I was hoping you had a good way to secure it with out that way being seen. Love your mosaic window.

I like the uncluttered look so would only add a ledge/shelf and mirror if you just want to add something for interest.

Do you need key hooks, storage etc? This looks really functional without taking up a lot of space.

If all you need is a mail slot and key holder ... can you make a niche into an interior wall and make a faux table under it with just an apron and legs?
