I bought my Montmorency from the same nursery (that I sent the info to). They still haven't responded. I do know that the fruit trees they buy are fairly boring, but tested varieties. There are never more than six or seven of any type of fruit tree, if that at the nursery. I live near huge farm 'growers' heaven (or close to Middletown, RI) They specialize in trees and shrubs (wholesale, but not fruit). Guess I'll have to wait for Raintree to pick it up. Cherries seem to grow quickly. Is it on semi-dwarf stock? thanks again! Mrs G

OK, I've trimmed off the tops of the Sedum plant. I'm letting the ends cure by air, then I will dip in rooting hormone and stick in the 50/50 mix. The removed lower leaves I dipped in rooting hormone and stuck the ends into damp 50/50 Perlite and Peat mix. A couple of days ago I took two leaves that had broken away from the stalk and stuck them in a damp rooting mix. They were dry on the end. This will be a third experiment, using a leaf that had a dry, cured end. I will report back with the results. ~Mary_AR_z7

You could dig a 5 gallon hole, fill it with water, and see how it drains. 1 hour later and you still have water there? You have a drainage problem. Put tree on a mound/berm if not draining well. The more sun the better for most fruiting trees (including cherry). The farther away from those other plants the less competition between roots in the soil.
