White or black frames...or no gallery wall at all?

I came up with the idea to create a gallery wall down one wall that connects the living room to the hallway. I plan to fill it with vintage photographs, "rustic" images, and interchangeable holiday images. However, I cannot figure out if I should have black or white frames. I don't really like the mismatched look and feel like with such a long wall, it should be uniform. The images are just my initial layout, to figure out how many of each frame size I would need. I may also include round objects/frames to break it up a little as well, but that will depend on what I find at stores. The hallways is only 36" wide, so I can't have anything that sticks out very far.

So, should I even put a gallery wall here? And if I do, what color should the frames be?
