Pretty Sure I'm Too Late??
Comments (5)Well, unless it's a heat issue in the summer, you're definitely not too late in TN to plant carrots or green onions. Bulbing onions from seed, yes, that is probably too late for Long Day/Intermediate Day types, and too early for Short Day types for an overwintered crop (if you do that in your area). We plant carrot seeds here in Michigan any time from mid-April till about late July and get a crop from them. I had quite a few volunteer cherry tomatoes pop up in my melon patch last year, and everyone was perfectly happy. I would say that's mostly and old wives tale. Maybe someone will know of a good reason not to mix these crops, but I personally don't see it as being a problem other than possible overcrowding/shading issues....See MoreSome late blooms
Comments (33)Hello Izar! I am so pleased to hear from you and to see your seedlings from the seeds that I gave you blooming!! What a treat!! I must say that this looks almost Identical to the parent which was my EBay # 1. I will go through my pictures later and post a few that are identical to yours! I wonder if all your seeds will be identical to the parent? Now I must ask if this was fragrant because the parent was particularly fragrant especially after the flowers have been out for a few days. I don't think that I kept any of these seeds as I have several of these bulbs. Donnaâºâºâº P.S. I just reread this entire thread and I guess I did have a few of these seedlings. I will have to go and hunt for them. They must still be pretty small because I have no recollection of them! Comments (3)playsndurt, you're not an idiot. Most people don't know or care about the names of their DL's. We are the strange ones...knowing not only the name, but the hybridizer and other stats too, is downright wacky. LOL! It doesn't really matter, if you're happy with them. You've got some pretty ones! Comments (13)A few from my walk through the garden this AM.... Requiem For Diana (newbie) Oldie but goodie, Bicentennial Queen FFO on Olin Criswell, nice late bloomer, soft yellow Cherry Pie Deligt is a new one, but just keep on blooming, and the blooms are huge. It gave me a set of twins today, and yes that's apples on the ground near it...I have an old apple tree in the same bed where it's planted!!! :) Inspired Hymns is an intro from one of my favorite LA sellers, Packrat. It was a bonus this season, and this is it's FFO on rebloom. That's all for now....more at my album site.... Here is a link that might be useful: My 2007 blooms...See Morebethnorcal9
