Thank you for the additional suggestions. I am also looking at the Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron Rectangular Baking Dish. I don't own any LC cook/bakeware but have read so many raves about it here. This one can go from freezer to oven and even handle stovetop cooking for making gravy. It is a very heavy dish (even without food) and $$$, but would serve dual roles as lasagna pan and roaster. I have 2 Amazon.com gift cards (and possibly one more on the way for Christmas!) so that would help quite a bit. I haven't been able to determine if it can take high heat in the oven (500F).... does anyone know? Can anyone comment on this dish and if the extra price is worth it?

Mountaineergirl, I think I'm the only one here with the Samsung. We replaced a 20-year-old coiltop with the induction, so, yes, definitely a huge change, but all for the good! Everything cooks so much faster, and the responsiveness is quite amazing. I like the power boost, and then to go directly to a simmer to cook rice is really great. Some people complain about the burner layout, but I am fine with it. Love using the convection! I only had to get rid of a few nonstick pans that did not work on it. Samsung was offering a starter set of Infinite Circulon nonstick, so that was a nice bonus. The fans do run after using the oven, and this bothers some people, but that's the way it works to cool the components. We got our range as a floor model plus additional clearance, so it was too big of bargain to pass up. Keep looking because a lot of people outside of GW do not even know what is induction. Thanks for the heads up on the roaster pan sides.

You would be hard pressed to find something that I have not personally gotten a permit for, and passed the inspections. "as such It makes sense I confused you again." -- You are not confusing me. At best, you are confusing the issue at hand and the OP's original question of slope. I would be more concerned with this statement; And, how they had planned on getting the Oatey liner even 2" above the threshold, and behind the Durock without taking it all off. BTW, how much of the bottom edge of the Durock do you usually leave flapping in the wind without screws in order to not screw through that extra 6" of liner? The Durock also has to be screwed per MFG instructions. When trying to one-up the code, make sure you are not shooting yourself in the other foot.
