Propagating jade plants from leaves

I've never propagated a jade before and I'm not really sure what to expect. I have 5 leaf cuttings (some pulled off nice and clean and others cut) and I have been drying them for the past 2 days. None of them have formed scabs yet so I expect to wait a few more days. They are on a north facing window sill and so far none look shriveled. When they form their scabs, I plan on putting them all in a 5 1/2 in pot filled with Miracle Gro cactus soil. Should I put their scabs into the soil or should I let the leaves just rest upon the soil in a circle formation? When they all grow I plan on getting separate pots of course so overcrowding won't be a problem for long. When I first put them in, should I spray them daily? Thanks.
