Both flower and foliage 1 look a bit like a chrysanthemum to me. When bruised, mums have a distinct scent, a bit spicy. I don't know if any grow in India.

I would think Thunbergia grandiflora for #2, based partly on color.

I agree with Garystpaul, I think plant #2 is Thumbergia.

Argyranthemum for the first. Daisy doesn't really mean anything in plant terms. It just describes a flower shape. (Unless you are in the UK where it means Bellis perennis.)

Flower blue to mauve sometimes also white 8 cm across and 4 cm long tube, that is pale yellow inside, flower can be axilar but usually in racemes. whileThunbergia erecta (Bush clockvine) is a herbaceous perennial, woody, can also be a sprawling shrub, but not a vine. leaves ovate-elliptic small, (smaller than flower) Length is up to 3 cm and width is up to 2 cm. Flowers tubular 4-6 cm across, rich purple with a yellow throat, there is also a white-flowering form. Both of this Thunbergia are completely different, and not so difficult to ID.

Thank you for this info, tofi. Very helpful. So you're coming down on the side of your original ID, Thunbergia erecta? That would make sense in terms of the plant's habit, also its leaves—at least as far as I can tell from online pictures. The leaves of my greenhouse-grown T. grandiflora look quite different (pointed and dentate). It was, as I said, the Bengal clockvine color, sky-blue with pale yellowish throat, that took me in the direction of grandiflora.

Sorry if I sounds too scrupulous Gary, was not trying to be, just love to share infos, as I also learn a lot from this forum from all of You. Yes I was in no doubt of T. erecta ID. I grew both in tropic, but now only T. erecta, the grandiflora was too rampant. Space limitation made me prefer "erect" plants rather than big vines.
