Under Cabinet Receptacle
Comments (4)We used those under all our cabinets instead of plugmold. Our electrician said he couldn't find plugmold in any color except black & tan and our cabs are white, so those 2 were no-go colors + we had an issue with disguising the wiring that went into the end of the plugmold from the wall. The slim outlet boxes are a wonderful alternative....See MoreUnder cabinet receptacles
Comments (4)Code stipulates the number and placement of GFCI receptacles in a kitchen, as well as the required receptacles per certain number of feet. Legrand Tamper Resistant Plugmold 2000tr is very nice: attaches slimly to the cabinet at rear of wall, 3/4". But, it doesn't come with GFCI, which, at least in my case, apparently means you have to have under cabinet "outlet receptacles", the first being the GFCI, the rest on the circuit being regular outlet receptacles, unless your electrician agrees to figuring out how to use more Legrand for you after that run's GFCI under cabinet outlet box. I find the under cabinet outlet boxes aesthetically offensive, save the needed GFCI. I encourage you and your DH to take some time and research your look. Add the plugmold to good quality under cabinet lighting and you're talking a substantial amount of money. I'd suggest investigating the new Legrand under cabinet lights/plugmold in one, which allows I Pad, slim line tech gadgets attachments to the bar. Pretty nifty with good light, electricity and function at your fingertips. Function meets form/aesthetics in one. GL. Comments (35)Feel free to have a good laugh, we do all the time! This hack cost us 0 dollars, just a couple of glasses of wine and troubleshooting. At first we had string on the Ikea trash can lid but it broke too easily so hubby pulled out the cable wire, strung it though the back of the cabinet and out through the front, not really sure why. A quick trip to the backyard brought a brick, some packing tape and AC foam tape to really secure this sucker down. My trash can doesn't wobble, shake or budge on any level, it's whisper quiet. My "must haves" was a secure garbage can with a pop up lid, put in a shallow counter (not under the sink) and cost effective (not an expensive custom build, this is all Ikea) plus it lights up! I use the non-string bags and 2 office clips to hold the bag in place, the lid is taped to the can as well. We live in 519 sq feet so every inch counts. Definitely not for everyone but we love it and get countless compliments and grins from all who visit....See Moretrash receptacle in blind corner accessible from outside, yay or nay?
Comments (15)We raise Nigerian Dwarfs and two years bought a wonderful Mini-Nubian doe. She just kidded for the first time. I LOVE Nigerians' stature, colors, and milk, but this Mini-Nubian is a dream milker (teats that fill my hands! she's like a faucet!), and just the sweetest, albeit a little lazy. We crossed her with a Nigerian so the twins this week are mini Mini-Nubians. The trash system is dead. He won't budge, and he never won't budge. We're too busy for me to try to win him over....See MoreBuehl
