What could be wrong with my Pubicalyx l?

Are there a lot of leaves like that, or just a few? Is it a fairly young leaf, or an older one from near the base of the plant? A photo of the whole plant, or a bigger section it, would be helpful....

That leaf was the worst one. There are a couple getting yellowish. This leaf was not the oldest but was certainly not a young one.

Thanks nckvilledudes. ;0) I bought the pots that the folks at the nursery recommended, but I realize now that they're too small. I was going to wait to transplant them until late winter/early spring since I just repotted them from 1 gallon containers a few weeks ago when I bought them. Do you think there's a need to do it right away? I haven't had any problems keeping them moist - I have to water the flower boxes pretty much every day, so I'm out there checking on the clematis regularly. As far as colors go, I was looking for opinions just for fun.

So the sun still makes a difference. I took the pic in overcast conditions & thought that was enough to make it work, apparently not. So the crack of dawn & right before the sunsets is the best. Purple dls are weird. I can take pics of my other plants in those conditions w/o the white paper & have them come true. No wonder people are all messed up about purples. It truly is a beautiful color & just wish I could get a good pic of it. It is just settling in here & yes, all of these are new this spring. I got them off the LA last fall from the best seller I have run across to date. Dbl the fans, came with scapes, great bonus! I will buy from him over & over! This is the 3rd or 4th bloom now & know it will get better. I am so excited about that green edge! Ruby Border is interesting. So they all take heat to get like that, huh? Even the other varieties such as Beautiful Edgings, Alicia Rose Kissed, Seal of Approval etc.? I don't have those but I do have Crimson Edgings & Pacific Coast & wonder if they will be the same? I guess I can see how RB would have a tendency to be like that. We'll see what happens when it gets warmer here. Walking In Beauty has the veiny look where those wrinkles are. Is that normal? I have Lime Frost that exhibits that & can't stand it because of it. I really like the rubbery looking dls aka heavy substance. So yours doesn't show that on a regular basis?

It's the nymph (youngster) of one of the true bugs (Family Hemiptera). Perhaps someone else can tell us specifically which true bug. Also, you might try posting on Name this Animal, another GardenWeb forum. (They also do insects.) I think it's probable that was simply an old leaf that had come to the end of its natural life...older leaves near the base of the plant will yellow and eventually fall off and that's perfectly normal; the plant looks very healthy to me and the presence of new growth is a sign that most likely all is well...unless the condition spreads or gets worse I wouldn't worry too much about it....hopefully others will come in with an opinion...

Monica, I have had my huge Pub PS for 8 years. Almost at every single watering, I loose a few what I call 'banana' leaves (ones that turn yellow). Sometimes they are large and old, sometimes they are smaller and young. This happens to me at every watering. I had just watered it 2 days ago and found these in the foliage this morning. Only with Pubs have I seen this happen with regularity. Here are this mornings offerings I found underneath the window.

I don't know why this does what it does, it doesn't matter if I give it a sip or a drench. As you can see, the new growth keeps on going so I believe that they (the yellowed ones) have just outlived their usefulness to the plant as shelley stated above.

Thanks. I feel much better knowing it's common (maybe especially with Pubicalyx varieties) and that I'm not killing it.
