Bad Bad Bad Real Estate Listing Photos-Hilarious!
Comments (9)Years ago, I sold real estate. One of my listings asked me to have an open house, which I did. I tell my clients to tidy up bake brownies, which smell great and also will keep the Realtor from raiding (just kidding). I arrived at the house, they had left before I arrived. The house was filthy with dirty kitchen counters, food spills on the floor and a full cat litter box that almost knocked me over. Long story short I told them I would cancel our contract if they did not clean up the house, and ditch the cat litter box. Ugh it sold within 6 weeks. Sid...See MoreInteresting tidbit from Realtor.com re FL real estate
Comments (36)Mtn, yes rats! In CA we have roof/tree rats. They are bigger than a mouse, but smaller than the Norway rats you find in NYC. They are agile little buggers and love all the food provided by the fruit trees found all over So. CA. No winters to slow them down or kill them off. We haven't found one in the house, but did have one go in the garage before we got new doors. We have quarterly pest service with several traps around the yard. The big dog is doing a great job of keeping them away. Nini, a friend's son got his masters at Rollins not too long ago and they were very happy with the program....See MoreAnother Real Estate listing photo
Comments (51)I would like to see a picture like what Writersblock mentioned, with the person in bed laying under the covers Sorry, but i didn't think to save that one. I mostly only save photos of interesting architectural details, ideas that I might want to steal if I buy another home in the neighborhood (mostly very small houses and it's interesting to see how people cope), or things to remind me why we didn't make an offer on a house that looks incredibly charming from the outside. I have some intreresting scary photos, if you'd like. :)...See MoreSo, another real estate photo
Comments (20)teeda, there are strict guidelines. My MLS has specific guidelines about no people in the pics. Also no logos, no real estate signs and a few other things. My broker probably has guidelines, but I haven't been called out on anything except once: my professional photographer had his name & logo on the bottom right corner of the one set of listing photos (about 35 shots). I was contacted almost immediately by the MLS that I was in violation and would be fined if the pics weren't replaced without the photographers name/logo within 24 hours. I got a second set of shots without the name/logo and replaced them immediately. To me, children in the pics are much more egregious. Not you pal. You blocked the child's face. But the Realtor that put these in the MLS needs to remove the pics and understand why people don't belong in the shot. The broker of the Realtor should be notified so the shot can be removed or replaced with something else....See Moreamykath
