hgtv canada is better than hgtv
Comments (12)Hmmm, maybe 2 yrs ago when this thread was started, we did have more gardening shows here in Canada. Right now I'm pretty fed up with HGTV. It seems full of these ridiculous design-a-room-in-20-minutes-shows with $100 and completely unlimited resources of carpenters, upholsterers, eletricians and plumbers along with a designer/host who looks like miss universe. And then the game show/reality TV varieties with people decorating their neighbours homes and getting into drunken fights. AND what about these makeover shows where the family says they like modern white neoclassical and so the producers bring in a designer who makes their living room look like a boudoir in the Taj Mahal, full of orange and pink and big intricate rosewood furniture, then sulk when the homeowner tells them to get rid of it? Oh Lordy. TV is for entertainment only, it seems. Back to my gardening books and mags, then! Pam...See MoreI 'm itching all over !
Comments (13)I can SO understand your dilemma. I broke out in a horrific rash, itching, painful, keeping me awake. I went to the clinic and was told it was scabies. Got the med, left it on for 14 hours to no avail. When the rash just got worse, I went back and saw another doctor who said I had scabies. Once again, no help. So, yesterday I went to a Dermatologist. She said I did NOT have scabies. She said it looked more like a reaction to something and looked like severe hives. She took a biopsy and now it's a waiting game. I bought every anti itch medication made and still got no relief. The Dermatologist gave me a steroid shot, 2 different anti histamines and a cream for the itching. I am wondering now if my fur baby is bringing in something due to our extremely high pollen count this year and it's causing this. Molly also itches a lot but not one flea on her! I too recommend Neem cream and Neem soap and 100% Aloe Vera may give you some relief. Doctor's are too quick to say it's Scabies. I hope this helps a little? I am still suffering and like you, praying for this to go away!!!...See MoreI'm angry over the tile installation we had done.
Comments (78)Once you said you needed a translator there was no reason to go any further. If someone cant speak the language of the country they are doing the instal in how do you expect them to read a guide? How can they read instructions? How do they know what l a quality job is if they have never seen one? People defend this off the corner worker and this is what you get. They don't have a clue as to the standards or guidelines yet they get hired based solely ON PRICE undercutting the real educated tile person. Anybody not understanding what I wrote come to San Diego or LA and see the absolute butcher jobs these people do every day. Houses are ticking time bombs as they do everything from electrical, plumbing to drywall all without speaking word of English or know one single guideline. Then add all the flippers who also undercut the materials and these house all look like crap. They are designed to look good from a picture on Zillow. Sorry but hire a real tile person who you can easily communicate with. It doesn't matter what their ethnic background is it has to do with being educated in the country the install is being done. By the way the key to cement tiles is buying them that are polished. Look on Cle Tile's website and you will see that they polish their tiles which eliminates the majority of install problems by sealing the tiles surfaces....See MoreI'm Afraid My Days of FMQing are Over
Comments (13)I hate to read this -- in general but also because I have yet to piece my first quilt (and I may have gone a little bonkers and have fabric for several projects before I have started one. Yes, my plans were to use some remnant fabric I already had and play around, but one thing led to another and I sure hope I enjoy this. LOL . But I digress.... I hope working in small doses and/or working with supportive gloves can help you finish your quilt. One other thing you might try -- I have used this Penetrex cream on my neck and knee -- I have only found it on Amazon. I use it alone at times and with Icy Hot at others. The arnica is soothing, reduces inflammation and it helps me. It has a light fresh scent and isn't greasy and doesn't cause stomach upset, and in combo with whatever you are already doing, it might just add a little something that will help. Hope it helps or you find something that does....See MoreAnnKH
