I second Perfect Moment (sadly it does not make the winters from time to time (I have re-planted this rose twice), also a very different rose calle Imperatrice Farah (my longest lasting rose), Folklore (the prettiest long lasting), Osiana, a florist rose that has done well in my garden, cold and rain not an issue for this beautiful buff rose. Maid of Hornor is also wonderful.

If you're looking for prolonged bloom, you'll probably do better with a japonica (such as 'Prof Sargent') rather than a sasanqua (such as 'Fairy Blush' & 'Setsugekka'). If blooming season isn't your only criterion, though, sasanquas are wonderful garden plants. 'Elegans' is known as a long bloomer, & many of its sports (such as 'C M Wilson' & 'Grand Slam') also are supposed to have a long blooming season. As Luis said, 'Spring's Promise' has been mentioned as a marathon bloomer, & 'Daikagura' is a tried & true garden classic that also blooms early in the season. 'Joshua E Youtz' was originally called 'White Daikagura' & is also early, beautiful & blooms for months. 'Prof Sargent' has a reputation as a truly outstanding garden plant- I just planted one this fall, & he's establishing himself nicely, & getting ready to bloom. An article at SFGate mentions that the Prof blooms from Fall to Spring there. 'Nuccio's Bella Rossa' is also supposed to bloom for an unusually long time, & has a gorgeous flower, IMO; I'm a little bit in love with 'NBR Variegated'. Nuccio's isn't terribly close to SF, but if I lived anywhere on the West Coast, I'd consider a visit during blooming season just for the experience itself. Those folks know a few things about camellias, so even if you can't go, you may want to contact them for recommendations for your area. Thanks so much for the responses. I've been all over Gardenweb and looked at so many varieties it's hard to keep track of them; these links and list in one place will be helpful! Harlow Carr and Rooguchi have been on my list. It seems the bell shaped clems flower all summer; I've wondered how much help do they need to climb without petioles? How well do the small flowers show up from a distance? I don't mind directing mine and tying them in places but can't spend much more time than I do already. I'm leaning to Versailles. It's the right size and color; and Ramona, in Pruning Group 2, blooms throughout the summer for me. Does that mean group 2 likes my climate? I would love to know the experiences others have had with Versailles. Thanks! Kay

I bought a daylily called Witches Hand in early May. It's bloomed from day one with only a 5 day break and is still going strong on Aug 24. It has 2 open flowers and at least 5 more buds. It's a red/yellow spider. I have about 8 other daylillies and none have even come close to this. Tried to get another [Bayport Flower House on LI] but they had none left. It's a Trophy Taker so i'm pretty sure i'll be able to get another next season. It's not even in my most sunny location.
