Clementine Tree is this leaf curl or just me over thinking
Comments (3)That's not the severe type of curl you would see caused by insects. I agree with the post above. Put it somewhere with a little less sunlight, preferably where it will get morning sun. And for optimal care, make sure the plant is getting consistent water (every 2 days). Young citrus trees can get a little scorched or dried out if there is too much sun....See MoreClementine tree help in re_potting
Comments (16)Go ahead and mix up a better mix. When I transplant I place the tree in a dark wind free area for a day to help with the initial transplant shock. You should do well. I have always used a heavy mix and in the winter I would draw are through the roots with a vacuum cleaner via. a vacuum chamber The tape separates the tree pot from the vacuum chamber. The gallon can with the hole in the side can be placed under my 5 gallon trees. us a shop vacuum to pull air through for 5 seconds 2 times daily. I kept my vacuum next to my trees in the basement for immediate access. Lots of holes help. Vacuum plus holes and you can leave your tree as it is....See MoreCLEMENTINE TREE curiosity?
Comments (2)You probably should have asked this question in the "Citrus" section. That being said, I do know what is most likely causing your problems. Look very closely at all the leaves. Do you see any evidence of leaf miner? (do an internet search if you do not know what that means) Otherwise it is most likely aphids. That white powdery stuff is sugar that has crystallized out of the sweet gooey excretions left behind by aphids. The excretions can attract ants, which is not a good thing, because ants have a sort of mutually beneficial relationship with the aphids (but bad for the tree) where the ants will fight off the beneficial predatory insects that eat aphids and normally keep their numbers in check. All the moisture being sucked out of the young leaves by the pestilent insects results in the leaves being permanently disfigured....See Moreclementine tree leaves
