Several years back I acquired seeds through swap for this plant. I was told it was a double flowered purple brugsmania. As I recall, I started the seeds indoors under lights in February (zone 5). Seeds germinated easily in 4-5 days. I had 3 nice seedlings and I planted them out in May. They quickly reached a height of 4'+, had several wonderful blooms and by the end of the season had a trunk base of 3" to 4" in diameter. As I was cleaning out some of my computer files I ran across the photo I had taken. I thought "I want to grow those again". So I started searching this forum, but could find very few sources and I happened to find this post about there are no purple brugs. I guess I always thought Datura was more a creeping viney plant, whiles brugs were a stocky woody plant. Well, anyway, perhaps I should have started my own post, but even if this is Datura, can anyone suggest a source where I can get seeds for a variety like this? Thanks.

Wow! You're the ID King, Larry! I looked up Argyrogramma verruca, the golden looper, in my moth book, and it doesn't even show the double silvery spots, which is what I was keying on. I used to think they were some sort of little sphinx moth, because of the way they nectar on flowers in the daytime, like hummingbird clearwings. Their wings beat as fast or faster as hummingbirds and clearwing moths - they really zoom around! None of the descriptions I could find on the internet mention that they're day-flying moths. Even though I couldn't find much about their behavior, I did find a link to Cafe Press for a t-shirt, a throw pillow, and other things with a picture of a rapid flying moth as they call it. Jean, know that they're not to be chopped back like standard buddleia. Do that and it's liable to up and die very rapidly. I've had one for 4 years and it was getting too dense so I trimmed some branches out in June. Within 2 months, despite regular watering, it was dead. Had one at my other house, a young one. Someone spreading pine straw decided to trim it down and it died. Pretty flowers, not as pretty as regular butterfly bush and not fragrant at all.

Hi again Mark Ok.... I guess I will just have to harvest the seeds from all the current pods on these 2 plants, cuz I forgot which flowers I crossed!! I did mark the pots, but not the individual flowers, so I guess when I start my seeds it will be just be another mystery, unless they don't look BP at all! :/ as I had mentioned before, this is my 1st attempt at cross-pollination, so I guess I have to go by trial & error. Next time I will mark the flowers, so that I know for sure what I'm working with when I harvest. Thanks for your advice!
