Name That Plant!

Need help identifying plant

I bought this at a yard sale to help pay expenses for a dog rescue and they didn't know what it was and it didn't have a descriptive card. I need to know where to replant it, full sun, shade or part shade. Thanks. I have it in the shade for now. It seems to like it.

It sure looks like a maple tree to me. Can you take a picture of a leaf from about 6 inches away? It probably will need full sun (especially given how red it is).

It's probably root bound as well. Do you have a permanent place for it?

Looks like the common Yucca elaphantipies. To propagate cut the stem in sections. to cut the top right off, or take suckers from around the base.

Could be a fungal infection. Succulents are fairly good at sealing off fungal infections if they are minor--you end up with a dried up black spot like that. Watch the humidity in the air--cut back water when it is hot and humid. Make sure succulent plants get plenty of light, and watch for scale insects and mealy bugs which can damage or kill plants.

That was such a good point. Now that you mentioned, I remember having to fill up a hole there a few months ago dug up by some animal. I looked up black walnut trees. The leaves look similar, but their nuts don't have a smooth skin like the seed I saw.

Might be a viburnum, too. Viburnum opulus or Viburnum trilobum or something like that. In which case it will be a largish shrub and part shade is probably fine. I don't think they're real picky.

The leaves on Acer campestre are not so heavily toothed, at least not the ones that grow over here. It would be good to have some better pictures of the leaves.

I think you would mean, 'Rose of Sharon' (which IS a hardy Hibiscus); but that still looks like a Maple to me (I may be wrong).

It looks like the Hibiscus acetosella I have as well. The young leaves are quite tasty in salads. They have a nice lemony flavor.
