Do you guys feel guilty when you plant to many seeds....
Comments (14)I feel guilty, because it always goes the same way. I have a bunch of plants, they end up squished together under the lights, their branches get all tangled together and rip off, and the plants don't get an optimal amount of light. Later in the season, I get overwhelmed about watering all those plants, and they don't produce as well as they would have if I watered. Then I tell myself "why did you do this again?? You would be much happier if you had a few healthy plants!". I know that too many germinating is the beginning of a vicious cycle, so yes, I feel guilty in advance when too many sprout!...See MoreHow much would you charge for Hab Gold Jelly
Comments (15)In reading this thread, I've found myself re-thinking this issue. Going back to what's been said already and thinking of my DH's costing for his stained glass, you should charge as ksrogers recommended cost of ingredients+cost of materials+cost of utilities+a reasonable wage for your time. It's true you're not in business (right now anyway) so you don't have the carrying costs of a commercial enterprise, but your labor is still just as valuable. I disagree on charging your boss less (offering a discount) because the likelihood is she'll tell others about the jelly or serve it not just to her DH but to company and you may well find others approach you to buy their own jars. They will expect to pay no more than your boss paid. Of course, if you're basically doing this as a favor and don't ever plan to sell it to anyone else, then it's a moot issue and you can charge whatever seems fair to you and in the best interests of your relationship with your employer. Comments (34)Thanks for all the support. He is still with us, the appointment is for this coming Thursday evening. Tim and I both have Thursday off so we'll spend the day with him. I am going to make him an ice cream cone, his favorite treat. I will post a photo of him later, I am at work now. It will be the hardest thing ever, but I am hoping/assumimg that the vet will have a discussion with us and offer some insight before administering the injection. If it is not the right time, we can cancel/postpone and pay her for her time. (Deep breath) One day at a time. Linda...See MoreThis would be funny, if it weren't tragic on so many levels....
Comments (24)Latest update...the electrician is working mightily, though some stuff will be faked for the inspection (three-ways not activated for example). The cabinetmaker I hired a week and a half ago (someone I'd worked with previously) to take over one part of the job...in the probably vain hope that the other cabinet maker and GC will then finish the painted cabinets on time...has already made and installed the oak upper cabinets. The custom wood hood is here and going in Thursday. But the carpenter didn't show up again today, so still no trim on the windows and doors, no grout on the backsplash, no stain on the patched floor. And the AWOL GC and cabinet maker apparently made a brief appearance, installed exactly 5 of the 25 plus missing doors and drawer fronts and left...again. Marcolo, I'm willing to allow a certain amount of judicious faking because the money does not get released to the GC. It goes directly into my bank account and it's up to me to decide when to pay it out and there's a deadline on my loan. If it isn't done by the fast-approaching deadline, I can no longer draw on it and any untapped amount comes off the principal owed. So...better to get the funds under my control. Believe me, I'll have no trouble refusing to pay until everything is perfect. I just wonder if I'll be in my grave before that happens. Melissa...See MoreSheila z8a Rogue Valley OR
