May I ask if there are 'rules' for this thread? Are all the pictures supposed to be similar to the OP's? I notice today's are all foliage pictures. And a couple of others I've read were all similar subjects, too. Thanks. . . . .

On my way by....absolutely no rules regarding subject matter that I know of, Rusty. The only implied guideline that I'm aware of is that the photos should be of your own taking. In other words...they should originate from your camera...and...ahem...they should not be "R" rated.

Rusty, anything that you wish to post is welcomed. And if it is something that you find interesting and wish to share even if it didn't come from your own camera, post it, of course with permission from the originator or give credit to that person as a common curtesy.

We took a drive today, and I saw this!!!! A humongous bird's nest with a very large bird in it squawking at us. The mate is to the right, perched on the pole. We have osprey eagles that come every year to nest. This must be one of them.

They do build their nests in that fashion - big and on tall poles (or something similar). After all, that is probably a great place to hunt for meals.

Thank you for the responses! Jim, if I were to post a picture of a person green with envy, it would be a picture of me! So instead, I'll post these.

I had no idea these little guys shed their skin, but I caught him in the act yesterday morning when I went out to water. He seemed to have trouble moving, and when I stood very still, he quit watching me and was turning his head, grabbing the edges of his old skin. Seemed to be pulling off bits and pieces and eating them. I found it very interesting!

Welcome Rusty. I don't often post pictures, but I check this thread every day, sometimes more that once for the great photos here. I loved your subject matter. I had no idea they did that either.

Rusty, where do you live that you saw that lizard in your backyard?

South Texas. We have LOTS of them! Sometimes they get in the house, too. When my parents would come spend a few months in the winter with us, (they lived in the 'frozen northland'.) my mother would get very upset if she saw one in the house. Said she didn't like the idea of 'alligators' crawling around in plain sight. Of course she was kidding about 'alligators', she knew they weren't. But she wasn't kidding about not liking finding them in the house.
