Trying to use the Photo app in Windows 10

I'm attempting to use the Windows 10 photo app for the first time and finding it completely useless. Is it possible to delete it? I hate it so far.

A question I have is about attaching photos to e-mail. I would like to send two photos from a photo "collection" to a friend. But when I attach the photos to the e-mail there's a message at the top that says "see the collection" that opens the whole collection of photos. I do not want my friend to see all the photos in the collection, just the ones I'm sending her. How can I send individual photos without the whole collection being visible?

To begin, I would never ever consider trying to "delete"/uninstall something that is a part of Win 10...just don't use it. If you need a "photo app"/imageviewer to manage your pics, a quick Google will give you several to choose from and any one of them is bound to be better than what comes with Win 10. Second, what email program are you trying to use? If it's the MAIL within Win 10 then the short answer is DON'T...for the same reasons. If you don't have/don't want a separate email client (example..Thunderbird), then use gmail or the webmail provided by your ISP. It shouldn't be too difficult to attach your photos to an outgoing mail. If for some reason it is...then maybe you have other problems.

And when it opens the whole collection, have you simply tried selecting the ones you want? I doubt it will send ANY of the photos without you selecting them, let alone the whole shebang....

The contractor is coming back with the ac guy to see if we can make the ac ducts smaller. We are going to be tearing into some adjacent ductwork to move a bathroom, so I was hoping to do it all at once. Yes- I think it may be worth a separate post. The problem with the rock wall is we think the initial home builders did not continue the rock where the pillar is. The contractor drilled into it yesterday. We are not sure though, as it was hard to get a good look. When the work starts, I think I will have them remove the pillar and see if the rock wall can be salvaged. The other issue is that the wall may be load bearing. The interior decorator remarked that the bend didnt look that great - kind of like it was added later.

Kidzu, of course I tried that. What I get are a thousand little tiny boxes. When I click on them I get one photo that is so small I can't tell if its worth keeping. It won't enlarge. Plus, each photo is in a separate box so it requires clicking on these tiny boxes one at a time. I have over 1000 photos on my phone and many I do not want on my computer. I tried following the directions from Google. I can't tell what is what. When I plug in the phone a screen comes up full of photos with check marks. I can't tell if I'm looking at the phone or explorer. The only heading on the page is 'photo collection.' Over 1200 photos all containing check marks. If I click 'clear' and try to individually check the photos I want, it still imports all the photos. It states that the photos will be saved in a folder under my name. I'll be dammed if I can find them. I've had it with Win 10. This is ridiculous. Before I could copy what I wanted into the folders I wanted. Now I can't tell if I'm looking at the pics on the phone or on Windows. There is no information. I deleted multiple copies of the same photos and they keep reappearing. The system sucks. I simply want to copy manually what I want to copy and save in the folders I choose. Stupid, dumb and typical Microsoft! Thanks, no reply is necessary. Jane

The e-mail client included with Vista is Windows Mail which is a largely the same as Outlook Express. The source code of a message in Windows Mail can be examined by selecting the message, press Alt-Enter, then the Details tab, Message Source. Or right-click the message, Properties, Details tab, Message Source. Or select the message, click File, Properties, Details tab, Message Source. I've used Mozilla Thunderbird for years. View message source by selecting the message, then Ctrl-U.

When you open the file or collection can you drag the photo you choose to your desktop, then attach from there?

I'm sorry I did not return to this thread for a few days. I am still puzzled by this issue. Here's what I do. I use Outlook to send emails. I want to attach, say, 3 photos to an e-mail. I select the photos from "Pictures" and individually attach them to the e-mail. But when the recipient opens each individual photo, there's a message in the top left hand corner of each photo that says "See All Photos." By clicking it the recipient can see ALL my albums (now called Collections in Windows 10). This did not happen prior to Windows10. I do not want recipients to see any photos but the few I'm selecting to send them. I've tried this repeatedly (by sending e-mails to myself) and cannot figure out how to get rid of the "See All Photos" message and/or somehow restrict access to the rest of my photos.

I hope this makes sense! I have not tried dragging photos yet to the e-mail but will do so. I don't think this works in Outlook but I could be wrong.

no drag photos to your desktop, then to send browse to desktop, click photo to attach. do the dragging before you open e-mail.
