solar panel to charge car battery for...
Comments (0)Hi. I did a search and didn't find anything so maybe I can find some help here. I bought a Solarex solar panel (with a 4 X 9 grid on it) that I was hoping we could use to run our well pump during our many power outages/brownouts that we have where we live. I was told by someone that this is not strong enough for that but I could charge, and keep charged, one or two car batteries. My question, if the solar panel was hooked up to the car battery or batteries would that supply enough power to run the well pump? We have a very small bathroom with no tub (just a small shower) so we can't store extra water there for flushing the toilet. It would be nice if we could have running water during an outage. Thanks for any help you can offer....See MoreNeed info on car alarms!! (My car was broken into last night)
Comments (3)***SIGH*** I hear you! Where I "used" to live in PA,we could go away for a week and let the door unlocked.Here...we had to put up locked gates because the freaks back the alley have teenagers that think it's ok to walk in my carport and take...my lawnmower and our tools when they need money. We learned the hard way that this isn't our small hometown....now we lock everything up.Wonder what the kids back the alley are doing for money these days? Brats! Then they come past and say"good Evening" real sweet! Grrrrr! The neighbor saw them taking my stuff ,I should have called the cops but he wasn't SURE which kid it was. There are about 5 of them back there.More on any given day. Cops are always back there.Only bad family on our street! (Of course there's only 5 houses here counting the one on the corner.)...See MoreDamaged my iphone
Comments (7)You know, it may not have been the fact that it was a cheap car charger, so much as it was a CAR charger. A friend's husband owns a Verizon store (the biggest one in the county). He warned me a couple of years back to never use a car charger except in an emergency situation, and then only for a brief period of time. Why? Your wall charger has a function where it stops charging once the phone is charged up. But car chargers do not--they just keep pouring power into the phone, even after it's fully charged. He told me that using the car charger (even the 'right' one for the phone) was a good way to damage your battery. I've followed his advice. I have a charger in my car--just in case I ever have an emergency, but I make a real effort to make sure my phone gets charged at home, before I walk out the door so I won't have to use it. My current phone? Is over 3 years old and still holds a charge beautifully (I don't use it often, but I only need to charge it once or twice a week)....See MoreMy IPhone related meltdown today at Verizon
Comments (26)My DH and I both have 7’s and haven’t had any issues. I’m a huge Apple fan only because they do everything I need or want them to do seamlessly. That said, I would NEVER EVER buy a phone for a 1,000 and I think it’s hideious that they feel justified to charge that.. We also have Verizon and have over the years been told MANY untruths by sales people trying to make a sale. I seem to remember something about them working for commission so from my perspective seems like Verizon tends to propigate it. We bought our last phone at the kiosk in Costco, it was a good experience, but if something needs fixing I don’t trust easily and will go to the Apple Store....See Morealways1stepbehind
