can you recommend your kitchen sink and faucet
Comments (26)Just because some people get water spots is no reason to assume you will! It depends on your local water supply, pretty much. Get a stainless mixing bowl, splatter it, let it dry, and see how it works. Feel the faucets on display, preferably where they're hooked up. If they aren't hooked up and they feel floopy, check underneath--many displays don't bother putting the weights on the hoses which leads to terrible performance. Is there anything you like or hate about your faucet and sink now? Go off that. If you bust your coffee maker's carafe monthly, I recommend stainless (or copper) no matter how splotchy it gets. If you like a traditional no-frills faucet, by the way, do look at Chicago Faucets. Those will be running long after KWC is buried in futuristic rubble....See MoreShallow Kitchen sink = short kitchen faucet? Your opinion please
Comments (2)In my experience, most splashing comes off your hands and dishes, not off the bottom of your sink (never happens to me), so having the faucet reach into the center of the sink may be the most important factor....See MoreAdvise me on kitchen faucet replacement or, what do you recommend?
Comments (30)I have Sensate and I have had it almost a year. The sensor is in the curve of the neck of the faucet. By raising your hand up into the curve, you will activate the on/off. It doesn't matter where you stand since the sensor is in the curve not facing you, per say. I can stand on the other side of the island to activate the faucet as long as my hand can reach to the curve of the faucet. My hose will go to the bottom of my sink and to the far corner of the shelf of stages 33. I have it center mounted. Once it wasn't behaving quite right. I checked and the plug had come out of the plug just a little because of the long hose hitting it. Once I re-seated the plug, all was well. The spray is very handy/powerful in preparing dishes for the dishwasher and sweeping debris to the disposal. If I cook pasta or potatoes, the heavy steam will activate the sensor, turning it on or off. To avoid that, just press the lever into the off position and there won't be any water until you activate the faucet again using the lever. There is a tiny indicator light on the hand lever that indicates sensor function is on and ready to go. I keep mine off unless I am cooking/cleaning. BTW, amazon has some Kohler on daily deals if anyone is preplanning....See MoreUndermount Kitchen Sink recommendations please?
Comments (2)There are jillions of undermount sinks available. Maybe shop at Fergusons; lots in their catalogs. The holes depend on the sink. If you have a sink with a faucet deck that's exposed, the deck will often come pre-drilled. It isn't hard to drill a sink if you want more. If you have a sink with no faucet deck, the fabricator will drill the top as necessary. If you are replacing your cabinets, you can get a full apron cabinet and a full apron sink. If you're not, you have to get a short apron sink which is designed to fit in existing cabinets....See Morelnm2016
