If you start typing in the search box at the top, you'll get a drop down, from which you can select to search just in the forum you're in, so just in Fruit & Orchards.

Just as with any search engine the more specific your search term the more relevant the results. Imagine what all you would get if you search "pears" on Google or Bing. ;-) So you have to be more specific in your search terms. Yes "pears" will pull up all sorts of posts from all over the site. It tells you everything you wanted to know - or didn't want to know - about "pears" or any post pears were even discussed in regardless of title. But search terms like "canning pears", "preserving pears", "pear jam recipes', etc. - things relevant to the focus of the particular forum you are using - gets you Harvest forum posts. https://www.houzz.com/discussions/harvest/query/preserving-pears/nqrw Dave

I thought there used to be on each forum but I don't see one anywhere. Maybe the home page....I'm almost sure I tried that before and it came up with all sorts of extraneous crap.... I am positive there's a search function....

They don't make it easy to find it, but it's still there. You just have to get creative to find it :-) Through trial and error and testing it through http://tennisunit.com/, I found you must be in the forum you are searching for. There is a search bar at the top of the forum page, where you can type in your query. Under various sections, you will find the search function, but it should appear under the forum you are most interested in searching. As soon as you click 'enter', relevant results will appear. How simple:)
