Weekend ?July 30-31
Comments (15)I was in the garden today for the first time since my knee replacement 10 weeks ago! Doc told me to give it 12 weeks, but I couldn't wait. The weeds have taken over, even though DH has tried to keep the garden trimmed around the driveway and front door. He's not a garden guy or really even a yard guy, so it doesn't come naturally for him and honestly he's not very good at it. I pruned a couple shrubs, pulled about 1000 feet of weedy cardinal vine and cut down some tree-sized thistles. I don't think I was out there for even an hour but the heat just about killed me! The knee feels good though so I'm pretty excited to think I'll be able to get back into doing some gardening on a regular basis this Fall when the weather is nicer. Now I'm going to go clean the pool filter, then jump in for a quick swim and then.... spend the afternoon working on my quilt! What a great weekend!!! (and I even got to see the new Harry Potter movie in 3D last night!) [Donna: I don't think I will be going to the guild meeting although I do need to get back into going. Maybe next month...]...See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? March 27-29
Comments (24)It is my own design. I looked at my bookcase, then looked through my fabrics to see what I could put on the shelves. Strip pieced the books and made "sections" for each shelf then put them together. The spider web is glow in the dark thread and covers all the funky seams that come together in that corner. There are patterns available, but it isn't hard to figure out. beverly...See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? March 31-April 2
Comments (20)Just had a disappointing call from the sewing machine techie. It seems that the tension on the pfaff is really "screwed up" and he is having difficulty finding a service manual. So " be patient". I did recently think about upgrading but there is a fair bit of money invested in this. Only two years old. I do have two other machines I can piece on but neither one is the best for quilting. What to do? What to do? Theresa...See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? May 26-29
Comments (16)I'm excited to have found a longarmer just 15 minutes from my home and will be delivering two tops with backs to her on Saturday. Last week I picked up the first one she finished for me, and it's beautiful, so I hope to get the binding on this weekend. I'm naming it a Rose for Lauren. I'll post a pic as soon as I finish. I hope to continue on another scrap project, that I occasionally pick up. It's a small paper piece block, so I need lots and lots of blocks to make a quilt of any size, but I'm loving this old project if only to clean out scraps. The not so focused pic shows the first dozen and I have another doz or so finished....it's a long term project, but a relaxing one a few blocks at a time. Happy sewing everyone!...See Moremsmeow
