Anyone have hayride memories?
Comments (8)Oooohhhh...we had the best time as kids at church on hayrides! We would gather and get up in a big old farm truck with wooden sides that was filled with hay and we would go around the neighborhood singing Christmas carols at the top of our lungs! We nearly froze to death...even with all of the people and hay, but we would all snuggle up together as we went down the road....it was always funny how kids would snuggle up...even to people they normally didn't like...cause they were freezing and it didn't matter who was next to them! Fun times for sure! I'm sure there were a few stolen kisses along the way too!...See Moreanyone else have trouble with Memorial Day
Comments (10)I invariably take the bait when a new "heat-loving" HT appears on the market. 'Memorial Day' was one of those. What a disappointment it's been! Kim's observation that MD likes hot AND arid conditions is probably key to growing this rose successfully. Even during the summer just passed which produced very little rainfall, our humidity remained high, and MD remained the lackluster bush that it's always been. I've allowed it to hang around for at least 4 years. It'll be SP'd by the end of this week. Remember the "Some Like it Hot" phrase that was prominent in the marketing campaign for 'Marilyn Monroe'? Well, she's another one that might be able to take the heat, but has a pronounced pout in highly humid heat. She's not as bad as 'Memorial Day', but she's also on my SP roster. (I'll be thrilled to get rid of those seriously viscious prickles, too.)...See Moreanyone got a good picture of 'dancing queen'?
Comments (5)This is only my second year with Dancing Queen, and I wasn't watching her for color last year. Here is a photo taken just now (8:15 pm Pacific Time) with her next to my brand new Justine. To the left is Touch of class, above is Diana Remembered, and Pineapple Upsidedown cake. So far she is maintaining her color. I'll be watching to see what happens later in the year. Diana Remembered got burned edges during our colder than normal Spring. -Babka...See MoreHas anyone read Memory Keeper's Daughter/
Comments (3)Sarah, there is an existing thread on this book. I'll post the link below. I read the book and didn't care for it personally. Good luck with the selections for your book group. Here is a link that might be useful: Memory Keeper's Daughter...See More- 10 years ago
