Comments (12)Maryl - Empire of Desire is a rebloomer. The registered bud count is 10-15. I'm sure the bud count will be better next year now that it is planted in a garden that gets full sun. Maybe those other fans will put up some late scapes later. Regal Finale only recurves when it is very hot - the mid to high 90s. Otherwise you get what you see on ATP. It is that dark purple shade you like. Debra...See MoreBlooming on a sweltering Saturday
Comments (5)Explosion in the Paint Factory was lovely today. Golden Glitz just started blooming. It is registered as late. It's a good grower and the flower is much larger than Sandra Elizabeth, a favorite very late daylily. We have several late blooming seedlings starting to bloom. We are very excited about them. Here is one of them. It is Cactus Blossom X Never Too Late. That's all for today. Nancy...See MoreSweltering heat, smothering humidity, super blooms
Comments (8)Get Jiggy looks good. Mine pretty consistently put out patterns last year, the best it has ever done for that. Without the patterns there are others similar, but I like it, and as you say, it really puts out blooms. Big Hearted Jim has really been blooming for you! Love Vanilla Gorilla. It is in my bed around my little pond that the guy ran his car thru a couple if years ago. I have finally decided I am going to fill in the pond, getting too old for the upkeep I think. I have really let that flower bed go and my poor daylilies there are crying for help. I cto mention Linda Sierra, it looks wonderful, I do love purples. It looks ore purple there than I remember from other people's pictures, a good look for it!...See MoreBlooming on Sunday
Comments (6)I forgot to post this picture. I thought you might want to see a photo of a seedling bed. The seeds for this bed were made in 2021. They were refrigerated until late January 2022 when we started to plant them. We keep them under lights in the basement. They go outside in April and then were planted in the ground in June. This first year bed (as I call it) is always eager to bloom. We start seeing scapes here before most of the rest of the garden....See Moremantis__oh
