New Bloomers First Flowers Open
Comments (15)Julia, no your memory is correct. Riot On the Kindergarden Bus does twist in all sorts of unusual shapes. I was surprised to see this FFO had more standard form but some of them are curving back and I know that the next flowers will be more curving. Guess it needs to just get stated LOL! I don't know about taller. I was just noticing that many of my daylilies have shorter scapes this year and I don't know why. Certainly wasn't lack of rain and they haven't been moved in a long time. Andrea and Nancy- Thanks. That The Fairy rose has small blooms and starts blooming somewhat later than the usual June Flush but it is a trooper. Once it starts it is good to go until frost. It loves to sprawl so the hill off the patio is a great spot for it....See MoreBest of the First-Time Bloomers
Comments (17)Here are some of the runners up for the Top 10. LAVENDER REFLECTIONS - beautiful flowers and beautiful 4-way branching with 23 buds on the only scape I had. MAGNIFICENT DAD - This one took three years to bloom, but the flower was gorgeous. Bud count of 14. ICE CREAM EMPEROR - I got this Trimmer intro in spring a year ago, but the scapes had been cut off and it did not bloom then. I liked the looks of this near white. Bud count was low, but it's still in a pot. NO BOYS ALLOWED - Great color and form on this Davisson UF! WINTER TREASURE impressed me as being very white. It does have some pink blush in the sepals, but the petals are whiter than anything else I grow. Debra...See MoreFirst time bloomers
Comments (6)When I first received the heuschkeliana I was surprised as to how long the cutting was. The leaves were slightly dehrydrated but they have plumped up since receiving it. Summer growing or rooting this plants outside is never a problem here. We have lots of heat and humidity this time of year. I am particularly excited about the Davidcummingii since I hear this one has an outstanding fragrance. Brevialata has been so close to blooming so many times but always aborted for me in the past. I think Brevialata is very sensitive to being moved around. IMO several hoyas display the butterscotch scent but this is one of the sweeter versions of it. -David...See Morefirst time bloomers and leaf shapes
