Jeanne and deejaus, Many thanks to you both for identifying my sedum. It seems it's had many nomenclatural changes thru the ages; it began life as Sedum floriferum, then it became Sedum kamtschaticum v. floriferum 'Weihenstephaner Gold'. It appears that in the nursery trade the name Sedum 'Bailey's Gold' is synonymous with Sedum 'Weihenstephaner Gold'. And Ray Stephenson, author of Sedum: Cultivated Stonecrops told me that the correct name (after DNA analysis) is Phedimus 'Weihenstephaner Gold.' aka Phedimus kamtschaticus floriferus 'Weihenstephaner Gold'. Of course, I won't be 100 percent sure until the flowers appear ... but I certainly appreciate your keen eye in narrowing the possibilities.

That would be excellent, they seem to be the resident ID-ers! Thank you both for the Crassula half of the ID, that goes along with some of the guesses I've gotten so far. My friend has literally taken pieces of this plant to garden centers and farmers market people to try and get an ID. The best he got so far was a guy who guessed Sedum, so I tossed that one into the title too, just in case.

Can't tell you the exact cultivar - absolutely too many to choose from - but it is a large flowered hybrid and if blooming now, in pruning group 2. Group 3's bloom later and group 1's do not include any LFH's - only species clems. Pruning group 2 clems do not require much pruning but if desired, they can be hard pruned like group 3's to simplify pruning chores. This just tends to push back the bloom season a few weeks.

The bluish one is Sedum reflexum 'Blue Spruce'. The reddish one is a Sedum album 'Jelly Bean'.
