Hydrangea 2016

This hydrangea paniculata "Bobo" is compact and as far as I can tell is a no brainer bloomer (on rigid stems), regardless of pruning or winter conditions (this is especially helpful for us in colder climates where mop head flowering is so unreliable).

I think one can see in the picture below 4 of the seven on the border of this garden (interspersed with hardy geranium "Azure Rush"). For sure its water requirements are much less than any macrophylla but providing supplemental water (especially in a full sun aspect as these are) does seem to help minimize the white blooms going brown as did happen for some of the bushes last summer.

I know many of you do have "Bobo". How did they performed for you last year? This year?

And am interested as to how they do in colder zones as well as sunnier warmer locales.
