Chair in corner of dining room
Comments (2)If you have room for a chaise, that would be my choice. I had a Papasan chair, and it’s not comfortable unless you sit curled up the whole time. They also take up a lot of room, and the round seat part tends to annoyingly move around on the base. One of my biggest furniture regrets is selling my chaise years ago. It was the most comfortable piece of furniture I’ve ever had (the style isn’t made anymore, and it was huge). Chair/small ottoman would work, too, and you could push the ottoman up to the chair when not using. It’s hard to tell how much space you have there, so definitely be diligent about measurements of furniture you look at. You could use painter’s tape on the floor to give you an idea of scale....See MoreSide table help
Comments (27)You guys have been SUCH a great help! I've done a few updates and wanted your advice. I bought a gold table for in between my two side chairs, a new floor lamp and a fig plant. I had a wooden chair that I pulled over from an other room. I love the look of the wooden chair but am wondering if it is too small for the space. I thought about adding a poof leather ottoman to bulk it up a bit. I'm up for getting a new chair, but just like this style and can't seem to find any bigger. That is my first problem. The second problem is lighting. I have kept the gray side table and table lamp in the room only because we like lighting on both sides of the room at night. I tried removing the table and adding one of those black metal lamps with the adjustable arm. I feel like it was too small for the space. Here is what I am wondering..would it be best for me to swap the floor lamp and tree and then get a small end table with a lamp on it for over by the white side chair? I brought the chair up to the corner of the rug like @groveraxle suggested and love it. If I do this, then the cord for the lamp will be stretched a bit. I'm not sure how to get around that. Metal art on the wall is going to be replaced by a black/white gallery wall of sorts and coffee table is going to be replaced with a brown wooden table with a black base. At least that is what I am thinking right now. I'm up for any ideas! I would LOVE any help you can give me. You guys have been so helpful so far!...See MoreAccessory help request
Comments (23)@happyleg your comment made me giggle because this house is so old and weird that everywhere is always 4 inches too short 😂 and with a doorway in the way. while we do have a corner in our entry its 22”x20” (the chairs are *just* too big). And every room has far too many doors and windows. we have 6 rooms in the house (excluding small foyer) and those six rooms have 14 doorways between them. Dont get me started on windows. 😊 The good news is that if there is ever a fire there is no shortage of exits...See MoreWhat table and floor lamp goes with corner chair?
Comments (3)What do you use that chair for? If you want a comfy reading corner, I would use the other chair. That would allow for a traditional floor lamp with the more traditional chair. The contemporary chair doesn't really fit with your other furniture, and is too lightweight to stand up to the visual weight of the brick wainscot/fireplace surround. Focus on a piece of art to hang that is no wider than the firebox opening. Pull your end tables forward so guests don't have to reach behind them to put something down. Or just add a tray to the upholstered coffee table....See Morelindac92
