my buddies wofe is growing habaneros they bought off a little girl for school and that is exactly what they look like..want to say they were through burpee but im not sure..

I know there were no habenaro's in there, as the guy that grew them flat out told me he doesn't grow them, and I"m reasonably certain they aren't ghost peppers, as I sampled each of them immediately after being picked. While I have a reasonably high tolerance to spicy food, I could only wish I could handle a ghost pepper like I handled those ones :) They were hot, but not that hot. The bottom right ones were slightly hot, but had great flavor. Kind of wish I'd gotten more of them. Anyway, we took a gamble and just kind of winged it on the salsa. We used all the bells, all the cubanelles as you call them, ten of the thais, three of the ?cayennes?, the two center ones, five of the jalepenos, 5 of the reds on the bottom left, and all of the ones right of those. I was aiming for a good hot salsa, as everything we've tried before has been medium hot at best. I just hope we didn't over do it on this one.... But anyway, thanks for the input Daryll. I'll check out that site you recommended and see what I can find.

First pic is cherry bomb or hot cherry. Last is Pequin. They are pretty hot for their size.

Going by the Caylix(sp?) The yellow one with the large one is an Annuum-possibly a Squash pepper sold also as a scotch bonnet or as Jamaimcan Yellow hot. Several Chinense look like the top yellow. OR it could be a lot of other stuff. If it is an Annuum it could be a Cheese pepper or? WAY different taste than a Chinense. The other red looks too similar to other red pods. I assume you have no guess list to choose from. Heat might be a help but then my idea of med. heat might be scorching hot to others. I can't help you much. I do think the yellow below the first one is an Annuum. Sold also as a scotch bonnet but isn't. Taste might help with the upper yellow. Size too. The Annums that look similar are usually a lot bigger than chinense varieties in general. Any info on where the pods/seeds originally were obtained? I doubt you have any Fruitsecence or Baccatum - off hand.
